This is the April 1981 edition of the Modifieds from Martinsville Speedway! This race was originally uploaded by the NASCAR Roots Facebook page. If they ask me to remove the video, I will do so. Credit goes to NASCAR and ESPN!

Martinsville's modified shows were a great mix of the New England/New York guys and the southern modified guys going head-to-head. Great stuff.

Love that camera shot from outside 1&2, proof that you don't need 100s of angles that only see cars for a second.

Thank you for putting this online! I am so enjoying watching it over and over....dad was so amazingly talented!!

Your dad allowed mine to turn a few wrenches in Joe's garage when he first got started. He was one of the school kids that would hang around the shop sometimes. Richie gave a lot of people good memories that last to this day... I know you're proud of him. We all sure were.

I want one or both of the jackets like Joy's & Jenkin's. So cool to me. I love that the Mods are back at Martinsville. I am a proud Virginian and that the most Cup races happen in Va. is really cool for me.
