The old 454 sounds good now. The Pontiac guys are gonna be wondering why he didnt put a Pontiac 455 in it. I know 454s are everywhere so i get it.

@@SantanKGhey1234 lol! I have a 454 and th400 from a 70 ls6 chevelle. They were rated at 450 hp. The early 455s made alot more than 166 hp also. Maybe in the late 70s when every engine sucked because of emissions and the gas shortage. All American v8s from that era were turds

It could be also that they may be a bit easier and cheaper to buy aftermarket parts for to build that power up. I would have loved a big block over my 350 in my nova

It's the damn speed bumps and low hanging long tubes, my 74 Nova had the same issue. I had to snail crawl over most speed bumps to avoid hitting my long tube headers.

I'm a Dynomax fan so, Ultraflow's are my choice. And those 2.25" tailpipes are restrictive. Go 2.5" at least! Having said all that, I do love a big ole 454 in a Firebird or Trans Am. Nothing against the Pontiac mills, they're good. But, making reliable power and torque with a big Chevy is sooo easy!

My mom bought a brand new 1979 Firebird V6 when I was in elementary school - even then I was SO MAD she got the V6 but it was my frikin dad who thought he could make a difference during the oil crisis to get a 6-banger. I went with my mom when she test-drove a V8 Firebird. Still mad to this day - because I got her Firebird when I was in high school - I was going to do a V8 swap just like this! But I ended up getting a 1989 triple black Trans Am with the 5.7!!! NEVER should've sold the '89!!!!

I’m sorry but the quality of this job is just horrendous. Almost like a blind man did it. Exhaust to me is like the finishing touch of any build that I do. If I saw a job like that done under one of my cars I would go nuts. I feel sorry for the customer. He seems like a nice guy but I would have never paid for a job like that. I live in Toronto Ontario Canada and everybody here knows Hot Rod Scott’s exhaust. I’ve been going to these guys for 20 years plus. Best exhaust shop in Ontario. The Nasty Cartel!!!!
