39 years ago today! This truly was one of the happiest and most memorable days of my life. I worked for the Sting so I was in Toronto for this game and was one of the people joyously celebrating down on that field when we won. I flew back with the team, went through the mob scene welcoming the guys home at the airport and was part of the subsequent parade and celebratory luncheon with the mayor as well as everything else that went along with this wonderful time. Those were the days ... the absolute best time of my life, for sure!!

I was 11 years old then. I remember listening to the game on the radio. On of my fondest childhood memories. I still have a autographed Chicago sting soccer ball from the 84 championship team.

I remember listening on the radio with my High School teammates in a alley drinking beer. The nightmare of being a Chicago sports fan was over.

Say whatever you want about the NASL trying to "Americanize" the game of soccer. Thus version of a shootout is SO MUCH better than penalty kicks and should have been accepted by FIFA a long time ago.

Even cruyff said so, in 1980, but fifa is stuck in the past, mls used to use them, but went back to pks,
