Christopher Miller right... it’s like they had to include hand-to-hand combat rules in their training regimens.

I like how it escalated from a tense conversation to a motion-blur fight photo. It's a shame they didn't have phasers to match their space jumpsuits in order to take down anti-customers.

Spaceport at the Lehigh valley mall was part of my childhood. Many quarters deposited in those machines! Retro games were the best!

Go to Lehigh Valley Mall, then right across the street to the one at Whitehall mall lol. Also, King of Prussia... whose "last day" is on youtube.

That's sad... I remember when everyone went to the malls to hang out... now I guess with the internet there is less need to actually go someplace to meet people. Unbelievable... we used to think the mall would be there forever... so many stories and memories... then it's all gone. I remember standing at the back door during break and watching the movie at the drive-in across the parking lot. I suppose it's long gone too.

My dad was the manager and I was the assistant manager... Shore Mall, NJ and Cumberland Mall, NJ. I wonder if there are any pictures of my dad and I out there. That would be kool to see. I remember leaving work early to walk over to the theater to watch Star Wars. Long time ago now... am I really that old? Damn!

How does this video not have 10 million views? Greatest ever. Reminds me of the old SNL bank skit, whatever your change needs, we can make change for you! Looks like the employees just got out of the can, making $3.50 an hour. Hey kid, you mess with the Gorgar, I'm gonna mess with you!

This is awesome!! We used to have a Spaceport in the town where I live. Never realized it was an arcade chain. The employees didn't wear a nice blue jumpsuit like in the video. One time when I used the change machine there was a "painted coin" with the change. If you got a "painted coin" you would win 15 free games. I totally used all my free games on BAD DUDES and CONTRA...hahaha -mngs717

I remember as a kid that I'd be threatened if I didn't do well at school I'd only work at a gas station or an arcade. At 33, I wish arcades were still around.

@@csukosd Are you kidding me? Where the Hell is a Spaceport Arcade still in operation? If true, I'm sorry that happened too you man. I know what it's like to work at a cool place where video games are central only to lose your job for reasons out of your control. I worked at a Microplay when I was in my late teens (1996-1998) and man did I love it. The store was actually shutdown because my store owner became a greedy scumbag that decided modding and selling pirated PlayStation games was the thing to do. I had no idea this was going on and when he asked me if I was willing to do it...I said "Hell no! I don't want to go to prison." He fired me for not being a "team player." Two weeks later my store got raided by the police and everyone working their went to jail. Microplay the corporation shut the store down and it never opened again. That was absolutely nuts man. I wound up working at Walmart after that and feeling like my soul was being sucked out of my body on a daily basis. After that, I decided to go to college and get on with my life. I'm still a huge gamer but now I have a career that I truly enjoy as much as I did working at Microplay. I wish you the best of luck my friend and if this is sn epic troll...bravo! ;)

@@freakyfornash yes! I think most jersey malls had a spaceport. I remember going to the boys and girls club in the 90s, we had 6 arcade machines. DJ BOY, black tiger, Altered beast, ghostbusters, Micheal Jackson moon walker, and of course street fighter II. I remember it like it was yesterday lol hot summer and the smell of the chlorine from the pool in the back.

@@PhntmStudios Pretty much from what I remember. They were a very popular chain, along with Aladdin's Castle (which was the arcade I'd often go to at the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City, NY, when I lived in Binghamton during the 80's), and Time Out too.

We used them to track "free games". You kept several on your pocket... if a customer had a complaint you gave them a couple of "free games". Since the coins were painted, it was likely they would get used instead of being taken away. (Mostly.)

Yes in the 80s you literally had to punch in and out of work. You had a thick paper time card and stuck it in the time clock and it punched a hole or stamp with the current time. Some establishments still use this today believe it or not.

Coins they had for testing out games, which employees there would give to family members during their non busy hours, as they said in the video too.
@eganc19763 ай бұрын
They were generally called "house coins". Bars also used them for jukeboxes if they wanted music in-between customer pay plays. Just a way to assist in differentiating. You ever get a worn quarter that looks like it was painted at some point?
