***** the grill worker does not touch the bun, only the sandwich maker does, with a glove. It is a third person's job to keep stock of the buns. The grill person, for food safety reasons, can't touch anything other than the raw meat and the spatula. There is even a separate spatula just for the sandwich maker to use to prevent cross-contamination.

I worked at a Wendy’s in Dallas during the mid 90’s. I got a chance to meet Dave and I can attest, the man was probably the most generous boss that a restaurant chain could ever have.

I don't eat fast food anymore but when I drove a cab, I ate it every night. Wendy's was by far the best quality and of course had the longest lines. I would always try to go before they closed but didn't always work out and i had to buy crap from taco bell or something. Not all bad by any means but compared to Wendy's it was a huge difference.

I worked at Wendy’s in high school 2002-2004. I remember watching videos like these, although I think ours were more 1990s Hanging With Mr. Cooper style. You don’t realize how much that stuff sticks with you but to this day I still blossom a potato the way I learned at Wendy’s, still find myself pressing burgers on the grill like we learned back in the day. It’s funny to think how we made fun of that stuff back then but it really does stick with you. I remember being on the grill and the reminder would go off on the timer and you’d call out “stir (chili) drain (pickles) sanitize (the sand which prep board) flip (tomatoes) flop (can’t remember anymore what that one was) fluff (bacon)”….20 years ago and you still remember that stuff.

We do it in the middle now. But the way they do it is to make sure they don't get lawsuits. What I didn't know is that if the patty isn't cooked well done and the supposed plaintiff is in the age group to get possibly vilely sick by that, they can sue.

The first Wendy's I had ever ate at was the Wendy's Dave Thomas opened in downtown Columbus Ohio, across from the COSI. I still love Wendy burgers

I worked for a Wendys back in '96-'97 The managers always had men working on the grill until i put my 16 year old girl foot down and said i wanted to learn it. It was the easiest station to work at. And yes, the old patties that don't get used was saved in a warmer above the grill for the chili.

Pretty sure he meant once it's cooked. He put the cheese on the grill to make it hot. You can touch food that's going to be cooked without wearing gloves. You can't touch food that already is cooked (like the finished cheeseburgers) or won't be cooked (like salads) without wearing gloves.

I used to work at Wendy's back in the early 90s when I was 16 I loved watching these videos my first station was the toasting station where I would toast the Buns all day then I got moved up to fries then I was making the big bucks then they moved Burger Station where I would put all the condiments on memorizing all the sandwiches was really hard but one day I had a dream that I was working and I actually taught myself all the sandwiches in my dream then I got moved over to the grill station and i did the delicious burgers if they ever got overcooked we would chop them up and put them into the chili one day we got really busy during a rush and we were understaffed I knew what Dave wanted me to do so when nobody was paying attention I went to the back grabbed my skateboard went out the back door and never came back except to grab my paycheck thanks Dave it was great By the way this is the exact video they made me watch I remember telling everybody at school about the guy that rapped teaching me about the grill pure cringe

"Pressing them into the juice". If you have a soaking sponge and press it on a hot surface, it is wetter or dryer than before you pressed. A 5 year old knows not to press meat on a pan SMH.

Its Wendys my man. These are not quality meats...they are meant for fast cooking. I rarely have fast food like this cause Im always hungry after...theyre so thin all these fast food meats. So then I found out its cheaper to buy from my "organic" butcher. I get 8oz burger patties for example, real beef for $8 a 4 pack...

Dave Thomas was at some fundraiser at my school in the 90’s and had written an autobiography which one of my teachers bought. When she left school I found that book in a stairwell and read the entire thing bc i was bored and this was before the internet. So I read Dave Thomas’s book. It was really good and autographed too! 😆 Still have it!

well I know for a fact that after Dave passed away, they slowly started changing all his ideas for a more Mcdonald and BK style from getting rid of their (I don't know how they did it) really quick single line ordering like they do in drive through they got rid of the salad bar, the burgers did get smaller (no longer smashed) and now the meat is a quarter pound before it gets cooked not after.

And then his Daughter, Wendy herself took over in 2002 after he passed away. She kept Wendys a Great Company throughout in 2000s, and even brought her Xennial Son on board. But then due to the Recession of 2008, P&G decided to sell Wendys to ConAgra Foods, and ConAgra decided in 2010 that the Thomas family shouldn't be running the company, so they fired her in 2010. And its been going downhill since then.
