Just bought an 80 GS1000G off the original owner. He was 78 and took meticulous care of his machine. The more I read about and see about these bikes the more impressed I am.

Got my 1980 GS850L with less than 8000 miles from Wisconsin. Moved it to Hawaii. great bikes. But parts are hard to get in Hawaii. Comfortable bike! Just changing handle bars and seats to a cafe style. I’m glad to know there’s community of Suzuki I can follow.

I grew up on the back of one of these back in the 80's. My Dad had the blue one. Such an awesome bike even in todays standards!

I own the 1978 Suzuki GS 1000e all original almost 30,000 miles. Black with gold stripes on bottom of tank. The skunk. Original paint, exhaust Put pod filters on but have the Air box. Putting electronic ignition on. Get rid of the points. Hopefully get it on the road in the near future.

Whats top speed on it?
@ssgtmaxwellfoster60394 жыл бұрын
It’s rated at 135 I think, mine is modded with a 4 : 1 Vance and Hines and k & n air pods and tuned for that. My speedo is original so it only goes to 85. I’ve gone well into the 120s for sure. It’ll prob do 140 or more. 0-60 is really quick too I’d say around 4 secs

@@ssgtmaxwellfoster6039 nice im thinking of getting one that needs some wiring work done. Never done that kind of work but motor is good and its a bobber build already done. Just scared of wires lol.

@@anthonyquintanar1501 ive done a few things to mine, nothing with wires. that scares me too lol. Just ended up stripping the oil drain plug and that was fun.

This is a great bike for riders over 6 feet tall. Shorter drivers may find it is too much bike. I'm 5"7" and this bike was too large for me. However, a 1999 Honda Shadow VT1100 fits me perfectly. I also have a 2010 HD Iron 883 with 14 inch Ape Hangers and Forward Controls that fits me really well. Just saying, always ride a bike before purchase. It makes all the difference down the road of long-term ownership!

OMG ... another insanely beautiful bike ... I bought a GS850L brand new ... I think is was a 1983 ... it was black and gray. I enjoy every single bike you put on KZbin. Sad part it I would love to see them all but most likely they will get sold before coming down. That being said ... Heaven forbid you get a 1972 Suzuki TS-400 Apache ... Then all bets are off ... LOL ...

Had a 1978 GS1000e, which I purchased in 1979 from the Honda /Suzuki dealership in Nashua NH for $2900. Wish I never sold it.

If I had a choice between the most powerful and modern bike in the whole world, I’d definitely pick 1978 Suzuki gt 1000s??????? This bike breaks your back and you could actually let go of bikes handles… So So comfortable riding it and very quick response from the engine! I love the black colour and blue and white and red and gray… I’ve had the black one and I use to sleep right besides the bike every night. What a bike… Also like Suzuki x7 250…
