Had a rough life due to his choices. Sometimes when you see folks inflict their own wounds, you still feel bad for them. He died young. But he was a helluva football player.

I remember this, about this time Kellen said come hell or high water the BOLTS WOULD MAKE THE PLAYOFFS, seems like yesterday.

Always liked that Chargers high octane offense. Also a great uni matchup Forgot what a big dude Muncie was. 6'3 225-230. Sad to see he passed away young

I had been a long time Charger fan, and haven't watched any NFL football since the Chargers left San Diego (except for the last Patriots Super Bowl game where Tom Brady won AGAIN). But, you know, these older games really make up for things - who needs to watch today's woke NFL, when these games seem fresh and brand new again?

Phil Stone replaced Jay Randolph when games involving the Chargers were televised in San Diego because NBCs Affiliate Station there got many complaints about Randolph's coverage of the game and the team

When they got West Chandler I don't know how they didn't win the super bowl they were so dominant off on offense it's just and they had I know their defense was flawed in some ways but they had if I'm not mistaken they led to league in sacks one of those years

Hard to believe this great team did not win the super bowl I mean just a phenomenally talented team honestly they should have won the super bowl 7980 and '81 they were probably the best team in the NFL all three seasons even 79 the great Steeler team that won the Steelers were blowing off the field by the chargers that season The chargers were the best team in the NFL for up through 82 with nothing to show for that's just hard to comprehend that great team never won a super bowl they're better than any of the Patriot teams that did win none of them Patriot teams were great teams they were just teams that happened to win by a field goal every time because they cheated half the time
