I wept openly when Doc, Big Mo, Little Mo, Bobby, the Boston Strangler, Big Earl, Clint, Iveroni and the 'Sixers became the NBA Champions on May 31st, 1983. I was so happy for Doc. That unit would have outpaced and defeated Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls of the 'nineties, PERIOD!!! Furthermore, had Big Mo entered the 'Sixers during the 1976-77 season, they would have had a dynasty long before Doc's retirement, PERIOD!!!

After winning 30 of their previous 32 games (including winning streaks of 14, 6, and 10 games in a row) the 1982-83 Sixers were 50-7 at one point, just one game off of the pace of the 1995-96 Bulls who started 50-6. Philly went 15-10 the rest of the way due to some injuries ending up with a 65-17 record but ultimately recovered to go 12-1 in the postseason and sweep the Lakers for the NBA Championship.

Freezing the Frame, you can see that name ends with an X The only player on the laker roster that year that had a last name that ended in X was Steve Mix Steve Mix made it to 4 NBA finals. 3 with the Sixers when they lost twice to the lakers, and this one with the lakers His Sixers finally won, except that he was on the losing end again. So I can understand why he's celebrating with them.

Also, Moses in 28 games was out rebounded and outscored by Brad Daugherty. 18-10 wins edge for Daugherty as well. Kareem outplayed both, Daugherty and Ewing and Kareem is 8 years older than Moses. From 1977-79 Kareem outplayed a young Moses. From 1980-1985 a prime Moses outplayed an old Kareem. From 1986-89 when Moses was getting old and Kareem was ANCIENT, they were pretty even. Look up the games.
@jeffrytaberski988910 жыл бұрын
George, I know not every player can be at the same age but what Moses did was unstoppable. The 76'ers were one of the greatest forces in NBA history at that time. Everyone gets outscored at one time but Brad never had a career like Malone. Also, Patrick Ewing !!! How do you compare him to Moses !!!!
@Head318Hunter8 жыл бұрын
Moses style of play wasn't suited for longevity the way that Kareems style was. Also you're pointing out statistics Ewing and Daugherty vs Moses. What's your point? Sour grapes? let it go, resentments are very unhealthy. Let it go dude. In 1983 Moses and the 76ers swept Kareem and the Lakers 4-0. Nothing will ever change that no matter how badly it hurts you. That's what this video is about. Not 1982 or 84, not Ewing or Daugherty. 4-0 now go cry yourself to sleep honey.
@archiveprotector8 жыл бұрын
Really? You do know that Moses played 21 seasons, more than Kareem. My point was that Moses was unstoppable for a few years but over the course of long career Kareem was able to adjust and adapt and still outplay the new breed of centers and Moses wasn't. If you had an adequate reading comprehension you would've deciphered that without much hesitation. If you were articulate enough or had a more extensive vocabulary, you wouldn't have had to try and insult me honey bunny pie.
@archiveprotector8 жыл бұрын
Jeffry Taberski I'm not saying Daugherty or even Ewing, was better than Moses. I was trying to illustrate that Moses was unstoppable for a few years but over the course of long career Kareem was able to adjust and adapt and still outplay the new breed of centers and Moses wasn't.
@archiveprotector8 жыл бұрын
In general, I believe that the 1983 76ers would be a real threat to any championship team in NBA history. They would beat 90% of them as well. They would certainly beat any of the Bulls teams, because of Moses.

To Redhead: Moses was great. But .... in 35 in games against Patrick Ewing he was out REBOUNDED and outscored. Ewing dominated him, more assists, more steals, more blocks, higher FG% and he won more games than Moses 18-17. I am not a Ewing fan, and I am a Moses fan. But he cant be best if got dominated by F#$#% Patrick Ewing!

OK. Moses was past his prime. Fair enough. Just for a fun fact, nothing to do with Moses, Kareem outscored Olajuwon in 23 games and Kareem was 15 years older than Hakeem! That's like Duncan dominating Anthony Davis.
