The Spurs paid a camera man $500 to record this game because they knew something special could happen and there was no other recording of this game!🤯 This is documented in ‘The Ring of the Rowell’ series. If you’re a Spurs fan, there are some good episodes in it. Comical the difference in fan fair and documentation between DR and MJ.

Biggest disappointment was the lakers inability to get past the inferior Rockets who they had no business losing to for another final with Boston at their zenith, 1987 was a letdown as Boston went into the finals with the hell beat out of them with the biggest injury being McHale who really shouldn't have been out there at all and cut his career short but it is what it when the teams were evenly matched and healthy they split in two of the greatest finals of all times

HUGE Lakers fan here but stopped following after they added Lebron. But the history of this franchise is amazing. The 80s were the ultimate entertainment.

Watching this in 2024, hearing the players talk about what it will mean “10 years” from now feels like I’ve gone into a Time Machine! The elation of Pippen and Grant has been replaced by hate for Jordan, 30 years later. And as hard as they say it was to achieve, the Bulls (new roster) end up doing this three peat thing again a couple years later. Jordan is the goat, but Krause and Jackson are right there with him for putting the right pieces around him and making it all work to enable the Bulls to be the team of the 90’s, making them the next great NBA dynasty after the Lakers and Celtics.

Muggsy Bogues is undoubtedly unique...he has an iron character and will. One of my favorite players, as a symbol of struggle and movement forward. But let's remove the illusions. No one in the NBA will put such undersized players on a mass scale, unfortunately. There is no such task and installation. And that would be the weak link. Bogues is more of a commercial success, an experiment, an advertisement for American basketball. Which is very good. None of this takes away from the talent and accomplishments of Muggsy Bogues. For me he is pure inspiration. I love him.
