Another of my childhood dream bikes but in black. Still never found the need to buy another big bore street bike to replace my 75 CB 750F till I bought my 98 CBR. It never replaced but it did find a place in my garage.

I had this very bike back in my younger years and loved it! First thing I did was yank those ridiculous wheelbarrow bars. 😅 Never failed me though. Fantastic bike and a great project. PS - I replaced the stock exhaust with a KERKER 4-->>1 and did something to the airbox and it ran really, really well! I can't remember the details on the airbox...but it was taking out the snorkel and drilling some holes with a K&N

Great to see the CB900f come apart. I had a 1981 black version as my first street bike back in '82. I'm seriously thinking of restoring one of them but I'm also looking for a CBX to do (dream bike). For the primary jets, pick up some smaller number drills and you should be good to go. Amazon has sets from #61 to #80 for about $12 Canadian and handy to have around. A full set of number drills is handy too.

Thanks Lorne, I have the drill bits, it’s the thought of the process that’s making me nervous

@@true-moto-resto brass doesn't remove very easily, especially with small drill bits like that. The varnish comes off easily.

@@true-moto-resto when drilling brass, as I'm sure you've experienced, it tends to grab the drill bit. For tiny bits such as #60 and up, use a hand chuck or just your fingers. You can then tell whether the brass is biting or if you're just drilling varnish/debris.

@@lornetontegode6986 gotcha, thanks, not drilled much brass to be honest So I appreciate the tip. I do have a hand/ finger drill

You make it look so easy! I guess it’s a little more difficult putting it back together without having a tote full parts left over. 🤣nice work.

It is pretty straight forward really. As long as you write down every step, take pictures and bag/ label EVERYTHING . The re assembly is just the same process in reverse. If you can take it apart you can put it back together. The only difference is torque specs and making sure you dot scratch the fresh paint

Back for another viewing! It's funny but in Australia when these were released the reception was extremely poor. Now? People get 10+ grand for them! Unfortunately for Honda we had a production race series in 1982 and it was dominated by GSX1100's and CB1100's. Suzuki & Honda could not import enough 1100's but Honda Australia had these 750 & 900's that just sat languishing in dealership showrooms. That said, I like what you are doing with the channel.
