as a biker, 54 year young, and over 30 years experience, street and racetrack, i would suggest to wear some protective gear, especially when going on a first ride...but to me for every ride, even short ones...its simple...there are 2 types of bikers, 1 who has already dropped a bike, and 1 that is going to drop it...if you drop a bike, no matter how fast, or slow, your going...trust me, asphalt, or whatever surface you and on...is really great in grinding like crazy...normal clothes, well, they end up IN the skin, if there is any skin left....and ALWAYS...the first thing a person does when dopping a bike...is stick out hands and feet...well, hands without protection, on grinding asphalt...get ready to see your own bones! trust me again....not a pleasant view...besides that...every excuse...just a short ride, just driving slow, i'm carefull...bla bla...NOT worth it!!! don't be silly, and just get it, and wear it! btw, REALLY love the bike :)

You might want to consider a two-stage paint for this type of application in the future. It would hold up really well to any fuel spillage. It's available in spray cans. You activate it by either pushing or pulling a pin on the bottom of the can before spraying.

Here's a tip, for rust on chrome , aluminum foil and coke-a-cola, takes it off like a charm, the foil is softer than the chrome so it doesn't scratch, and $1500 for that gem is a great price !

Wow!! She looks amazing & sounds even better. Great job on it. Very impressed w/how that spray paint turned out. My Dad hated having to spray paint anything because it never did look as good as a real shop job would looks, but that stuff’s impressive. Now a question....I bought a small little wooden tray the other day, but when it got home, the one side had sheared off it. It’s a clean break, but here’s the thing...What kind of Wood Glue should I use on it? Mom hasn’t a clue & neither do I, so just thought I’d ask. Thanks in advance!! On that note...I need to get to work on finishing up a Journal I made the other night. The Covers are finally dried, so all I need to do is sew in the Signatures/Pages & it’ll be finished. Except for the finishing touches, but those are fairly easy. Thanks for sharing & Take Care!! 😊

Wow..I have not heard of a Norton in decades...they are beasts..Norton is not well known but awesome specialized performance bikes..pricey but was a well built machine..I had an adoptive big brother that was a class A machinist..I helped him in the shop and we did so many performance and restored on many bikes..we ran the motor cross and enduro bike runs..he has now passed but the knowledge I learned has served me well.js..and he would mill and make parts for those we couldnt find for a rebuild on any bike or vehicle we couldnt find and were always looking to improve performance in each part and system...and no I was a non traditional female that still held traditional female traits..it was fun to be a dirty girl..lol I didnt mind grease and dirt but still loved the out come of our projects..it was empowering to be that girl that was living in the split personsona..lol..equally living the girl world and the mechanical world which was frowned upon...empowering..js

Happy the newer BMW sold. It isn’t a comfortable touring bike, and if you’re going to ride a distance, there are many other much more comfy on the behind bikes. Especially if you’re stuck on the back riding. Like I am now. The second BMW is cool, just not a fan of them. Now the Norton and Moto Guzzi, those 2 are really interesting. My dad had a Norton from the 50s. I rode a basket bike when I was 5. A basket bike comes as parts in a baskets. I was blessed my father was a mechanic. Through the years there have been of course Hondas, Yamahas, CZ from Czechoslovakia, Nortons, an Indian, a Motto Guzzi, and everything else except a Harley. Um I’m really showing my age.
