I have a 1981 KDX 175. My dad brought it new for me in 1981. Put a new intake manifold and Striker carb on it 2 days ago and rode it. Runs better than new.

Growing up, my next door neighbor rode a kdx 450 quite successfully in TT open races. We used to make fun of him cuz we all raced moto x . Until we all went riding in the desert for the slash x poker run. He smoked all of us by at least 30 min.

Quite nice. I had a 1980 and loved it! However, the first KDX with the Uni Trak suspension was on the 420 1981.

Man I remember one of my best friends had one it was the air-cooled like that but it was a 200cc kdx thing would come up in every gear damn near pulled real hard pretty fast fun to I miss riding that thing was a awesome bike IV always wanted one ever since had no clue there was a 450cc that's just amazing💪🤙‼️

Wow!! I had one of them long ago.. the pipe an ports were worked.. Vicious when the powerband kicked in.. bike hurt me one morning and i swopped it for a computer!! At least the pc worked with me!

Wonder if it was geared an stroked different than same year KX as is the nuance case with most enduros(not duel sport) and mx across makes. People never talk about this. Enduros usually have shorter stroke and some shorter ratios than mx

Always wanted one of them that and the IT 465 Yamaha, for or more dirt oriented Street Enduro but had a 78 mako Magnum 250 and 82 mako 250 that I held off and then finally broke down and bought a 89 xt600 Enduro Yamaha four-stroker but it never had to braaap power band of a two-stroke, lots of grunt down low but not that explosive 2-stroke power band on the top which we all like when we're riding on the edge pushing the envelope spraying trail mix

No. We have a $54,000.00 security system. Sr & Jr chain them up so they are not moved without their authorization.

I hope you have a cush Drive in the rear hub. If you do not have the rear sprocket mounted in a rubber shock absorbing cushion. You will definitely harm the transmission. When you’re riding a motorcycle designed for dirt riding, the ground is your cushion because dirt is soft compared to concrete and asphalt. I do not know of a street bike of any kind that does not have a shock absorbing device in the driveline
