Oh, gawd - "Jekyll and Hyde, Together Again." One of the logs squeezed out of show business when cocaine infested the comedy world. Of all the members of the cast of "Fridays" - the ABC attempt to clone Saturday Night Live - Jekyll star Mark Blankfield got the shortest stick. (The longest, of course, was Larry David's.)

5:13 the voice of Darwin Gillett. If you watched Bay Area TV in the 80s, you know his voice from his promos for Channel 44. 13:36 the smiling face of Alan Hamel for Alpha Beta. "And tell a friend." 21:16 Dan Ingram, the legendary NYC disc jockey, on the voice-over for Fresh Start.

More please! Would love to see an entire show like Creature Features with all the commercials intact!
That would be awesome. A set of Captain Cosmic would be great too ;)

1982 -Was living in Walnut Creek. Am remembering these commercials. Don't recall 'FM-TV' though. Can't believe just spent 20mins watching tv commercials, w/actual reminiscence. Something wrong there. Nevertheless, thanks for sharing this. KBHK voiceover guy's voice was great as a "voice of the Bay Area." Different times (independent stations & psa's/ before FOX & Comcast). Thanks again! May the blessings of Charlie & Humphrey, Miss Nancy and ... Bob Wilkins be with you, for there's only 1 2.

Well...I'm assuming it's real sugar and not HFCS as a reason. And it was a local soda. I used to pass the factory going to work in the 90's

"FM TV" was one of hundreds of syndicated shows trying to cash in on the MTV phenomenon. The diff w/FM TV was the fact it was simulcast in stereo on a local radio station, so you could listen to the music the way it was originally intended. Because it was analog, there was no lag.

L.N. Smithee FMTV seems SO rare, this is from one of my dad's old VHS tapes...do you have or know of a way I can see any more segments? They seemed to blend oldies and (at the time) modern early 80s music too, which is interesting.

YEEEEEEAH! The KBHK music for the Oakland A's broadcasts! That salsa-ish brass section and those strings! I love it, love it, love it! If anyone has the LONG version of that with the ending that echoed John Williams' "Superman" fanfare, by all means, POST IT!

06:28 - Hey, it's "Niles" from "The Nanny!" Daniel Davis, the man too proud to be on the reunion show. When did Radio Shack sell records? Thanks for the blast from the past.
@LNSmithee10 жыл бұрын
Radio Shack sold records when the people behind the counter needed to know jack squat about radios to work there. But seriously, K-tel had a deal with Radio Shack to sell its compilation LPs.

As a kid growing up in the SF/Bay Area, I regularly visited my local Radio Shack for my monthly free battery, (usually AA size), I'd get with my Radio Shack Free Battery Card and yes, I definitely remember RS also sold the KTEL brand of records, mostly pop and soft rock LP song compilations of the period. RS was the place to go back then for cheap electronics and various other e-goods, it's so strange today to not see a RS store at your local strip mall since they were so popular back in the day, but I do believe the Radio Shack name either merged with or was purchased by Sprint, ... I actually walked into a electronics store that was 1/2 Sprint and the other 1/2 was Radio Shack, ... a definite sign of the times, but weird man, really weird.
