There’s a 1982, which might not be copper, but from my experience and what the video shows, I’d guess it’s copper. Actually.... Switch that to 1981. In 1982, depending on the mint/location, about half the minted pennies are switched to zinc fill. So 81 was the last full year. Ive seen too many assholes mixing zinc 82 with the rest of their copper collection pre 82& it fucks up value. And after I typed that, I reckon that means you are correct. Lol. (I'm 40), my father is 70, & also served 4 yrs in the Navy; he was extremely lucky to see the places he got to see, considering the times; Spain, France, Pompeii, a few islands, & a handful of other places unfortunately I can't remember all of them right now. But my point is we have US pennies dating 1900, 1901, 1902, and so on, all the way up to the 1940s. Some of them, and I mean only some, have the special marking. And we found that those early pennies are still not even worth what he said his were. Hey, I'm not saying that this guy doesn't know what he's talking about, but I have never seen ones like that that were that expensive. Especially without the marking(s).

As a kid i always looked inside couches and in abandon houses yards. Found a 1943 copper penny and a steel penny.... will continue to have it in my safe until i turn 50 then i will give them to my kids. If they dont want them i will sell them at auction

@@TheCoinNerd yea but some of Lincoln head from the top left is worn down but the back and the rest of the copper one is circulated so u can see some smoothness and none of the sharp detail but u can still see its a 1943 copper i think the part that is warn down makes it more valuable just cuz u can tell its all copper and the steel one looks kinda like grey i even have a 2cent penny pretty worn down but still nice to keep for now

As a young coin collector , the fact that Chinese counterfeiters are cranking out all sorts of collector coins that are not marked "copy" should be upsetting also. Have a look on aliexpress . And, yes...the photos show coins clearly marked "copy" , but the ones they actually sell are not always marked in any way .

They caught some Chinese "college students" in the US taking orders for kidneys , etc. It was all caught on hidden video cameras. He know a little. 1982 pennies have gone for up to 19,000. The weight is wrong 3.1-3.2 grams is correct. A mint error 1982 small date with old 95-5 copper-zinc composite weighing 3.12 grams 1 of 2 known went for the 19,000. What con men do.
