For those saying chopping ruins it: These things are like $1k stock in good condition, they are dinosaurs (and not particularly good or classic). What this guy did is give it a new life, some kid is going to get the bike of their dreams and fall in love first with the styling, then fall in love with the ride. This didn't kill the bike, no it saved it, and it probably brings some new future riders into the sport. That is worth something far greater than an OEM tail, and it will be kept in far better condition because it is loved.

Great response, that’s exactly why it always bugs me when the old skool bike guys crap on a kid with a permanently altered bike, unless it’s a potential museum piece then wtf? Why not

Who said the carbs were funny on this bike? I've heard they can eat a bag of dirt and never not run.
@m3owcaboose5294 жыл бұрын
The design of the carbs are fine, it's that a few different companies made carburetors for this bike and some we're better than others. My 550 runs a set of mikuni carbs and those are pretty reliable but I think it's nikki that made a set of carbs used by yamaha that weren't as reliable.
