i had a 83 sc back in the day, and to this day, it is the funnest car i ever drove. i had a 427 cobra and though that was a lot faster in a straight line, the fun of the old air cooled 911 is so much greater.

Eighties 911s were the best looking 911s.

Totally! Still the original look but with some '80s flair and more power.

They look like barbie cars.

Agreed. The new pitches just look corporate and boring. Just like BMWs and Mercedes now!

We had several of these when I was a kid. All late 60’s and 70’s era. My dad and I muse about what those cars are worth now! Including the 66 911 with factory electric sunroof and 67 911s Targa with the zip out rear window that He didn’t really want to buy once he saw it. Hindsight is 20/20 My favorite car of all time. So many memories

Yes 911's from the 80's rock, best colour goes well with the red seats in and that spoiler just looks spot on. Never had a Porsche on my wall it was a Ferrari F40.

Love my 83 convertible

Best thing you can do is get a new, but classic looking MOMO steering wheel. Moves it away from the dash, looks and feels far better too.

This Porch is the Ultimate New York, Wolf Of Wall Street car. Just a out & out posing car. No practicality, no comfort just a machine that says “I’ve made it” above!

Have a 1996 993 Carrera and all (well most) of the quirks are still there! Air-cooled flat 6 still sounds spectacular. Keep driving furiously my friend!

3:25 "water temperature"... Yeah you are definitely not a Porsche Guy, these cars are air cooled... :D

Yet another great review. Most probably the closest I’ll ever get to seeing and experiencing a 911 👍🏻

I had the privilege of driving a friends 86 Carerra with the 3.2, It’s such a joy to drive on the open road but I got stuck in rush hour traffic and the experience became of a pain in the ass. Your so correct that you become spoiled by modern cars. A true icon of a car however my chance of owning one diminishes as the prices for decent used ones are through the roof.

Yeh you don’t realise how domesticated and safe modern cars are. Inside your insulated from noise, pollution, and climate. There we sit in a our self controlled cars that where we create a climate that is comfortable for us, set the suspension and seats that’s comfortable for us we are in a false domesticated climate controlled box that even filters out the air we breath. In that Porsche it’s brutal & visceral, back to nature!

The one question I wanted answered was what's it like to drive from a performance point of view compared to say a new MINI Cooper
@matty68484 жыл бұрын
No comparison. There’s a rear engined, rear wheel drive 80s Porsche then there’s a front engined, front wheel drive Mini Cooper. Aka cookie cutter car as they say in America. I’ve driven both luckily and it’s like night & day in experience!
