Wow, so cool! Michele Mouton was seriously one of the best drivers in the world at the time. If you look at her whole career, you find that she was a consistent front-runner, and not just in Rally Cars. She was a class-winner at Le Mans as well, for example. She very nearly beat the great Walter Rohrl for the WRC, winning four rounds in the process. When the FIA banned the super-fast Group B category of cars, she retired, saying "It's a good time to stop". Maybe she wasn't interested in going so much slower in the Group A cars, but I really don't know. A unique character and one of the best drivers in WRC history.

@@mikeskidmore6754 It's not the knowing, to me, it's Michelle's take on it I thought remarkable, that if her navigator is not telling her to slow, down, she needs to go faster (she is not quick enough). Brilliant. I was out spectating on this. The Audi sport International was a good rally and a shake down for crews doing the RAC rally. I think later it became the bulldog rally. Good days excellent rallying. Now days I don't watch the WRC at all on TV. Having come through watching rallying from the late 60s up to to the mid 2000s those were the best years. But the Lombard RAC rally was by far the best for spectating back in the day

Michelle Moulton😍😍😍...beautiful, fast, clever....just....wow🤯. Why did we just get this one woman? And during the Group B era at that! It’s mind blowing really, and kind of sad that other women have not followed her steps. When they killed group B, they killed rally in my opinion. It’s popularity at the time had peaked.
@anydaynow014 жыл бұрын
I totally agree, while I feel no one should ever die in the name of sport it was the innovation and speed that made group B amazing, I'm still dismayed that instead of taking the hard road of introducing higher safety standards for the courses and crowd control they just banned it. Unfortunately it looks like F1 is going down that same road with the 2021 (2022?) regulations.
