I'm glad to hear the old guys (like me @44) getting back into it. I too started back after my kids started messing with BMX bikes. Couldn't resist. So in 2010 we went to a track an hour and half away and that was that! Now I'm in in the process of have a USA-BMX track built in our town. Should be up and running summer 2014. Been pursuing this since 2009. Love BMX, the BMX families and what a positive influence it has on kids as it did on me. Rock on guys...keep on goin!!

I'm 46 and from the UK, this shit almost had me... The nostalgia bomb nearly killed me. I met Andy Ruffell at the yearly MCN (motorcycle news) bike show in the early 80s.he signed a poster for me I was stoked, first time I have seen this movie and it was brilliant. I mountain bike these days and still feel like a kid when riding, can't beat being on the saddle imho. Thanks to everyone involved In this ,it's got to be one of the most inspirational videos in existence.

i remember watching Andy Ruffell at the Leas Cliff Pavillion in Folkestone back in about 1983, they had a quarter pipe set up and everyone was cheering as he would go up, twist the bars slightly and come down again lol, my how things have changed, he also 'bunny hopped' over about 5-6 people and my mate was one of the kids lying down lol, id love to send Jamie Bestwick back in time to show people where we're at now, i also won on the raffle that night, got a pair of AME handlebar grips with £5 selotaped to the tube.. i spent it all down in the Arcades on the 2p Fruit Machines ;)

Great video!! Watched it with my 7-year old son last night. He started BMX racing this past March and loves it!! I never raced as a child. But after seeing him on the track and then seeing people my age (40) racing, I got myself a race bike and am having the most fun I have ever had in my life!! The best part is spending all the time with my son and having fun together!! Plus the people you meet are amazing.

Something similar, but edited to 1 minute. Me and a friend at our local dirt lot, @ Lake Hollywood CA circa 1974. We both went on to race motocross at Saddleback, Indian Dunes and Escape Country. Rick Maki went pro and was one of those woulda-coulda-shoulda guys that never really achieved notoriety. I broke my foot and found out about girls and partying. Oh come on. You should know better than that. This video isn't widescreen. It was shot 4:3 and then stretched to 16:9 which is why it looks all distorted. Do this- download the video (clipconverter.cc is an easy way to do it), play it in VLC and set the aspect ratio to 4:3 and everything looks normal again.
