The more I hear David speak in interviews the more I understand how tormented he must have been. He really was an intelligent and very grounded person who dealt with the fickle nature of fame

I recently listened to Meryl talk about the life she shared with David. She endured some troubled times but graciously focused on his talent , charm and said he had a kind soul, like no one she's ever met. Her love for him is still there

@@adrienneshelley4696 It's become all too common for people to allege anything they want once the other party is gone and cannot respond. Worth noting she called the interviewer and asked to re-record her interview and then dropped out of touch altogether. Hard to not question both what she said and why she said it.

I miss him so much. He was such a nice guy, at least he seems so to me. He was so talented, convincing actor and unique voice. You know it's him singing after the 1st note.

He had too much to overcome. A broken home with an abusive father, who could charm the socks off of anybody else, overwhelming worldwide fame at entirely too young an age and the final straw - an inherited, genetic tendency to raging alcoholism. He did well to live as long as he did. He was actually a very good actor. It's too bad that he couldn't find vehicles in movies. He was staggeringly talented.

The newsman in the beginning is Ron Hendren. He along with Marjorie Wallace were the first hosts of Entertainment Tonight back in 1981. What a throwback! I finished Cassidy's autobiography (C'mon Get Happy) a few weeks ago. Really interesting stuff.

I just read his autobiography. This woman he married turned out to be a very dark person in his life. Now I see why he rarely spoke of her. Very sad to read about it. See how he's turned away, even his body language shows it in this clip.

If you notice his body language, he was positioned away from her during the interview. He literally was turned at an opposite angle which I thought was odd. They were not married long and divorced.

We really shouldn't judge because we don't know, even David may not have known,the full story of a person's life. Maybe at the time, there were influences in her life, or they mutually self sabotaged their relationship for unknown reasons. I have made so many mistakes in the course of my life; that I can't judge this woman who I don't know at all.

Yep..I agree ..Susan..of course .she was too wholesome and didn't suit him at time ..sad I always had crush on him too when younger. Fine looking, very gifted ,talented indeed ,seem like fun ..nice man on surface ..but our darker sides cause us to loose many things that may be BETTER FOR US ..Susan, I'm sure had a physical attraction to him ..but loved him on a soul level but he was too into lust ..which unfortunately most relationships die out on ..they start wrong and end wrong ..sad .David was tormented soul most of life ..Susan could have helped if he'd given her more of chance..but its more ..not that she lost him but that she was saved even more future heartache .he never healed it seems his whole life..he chased things, people to cover up pain..but never healed enough to love in healthy manner .I get it .ive went through much of struggling with same demons. I'm almost 60 ..alone by choice ..because I'd rather be. .than be with even (one more )wrong person. Ouch hurt 😞😢💔

@SM t. If there is a god (I’m not personally a believer) then I don’t think David’s ‘sins’ would be something god would be that concerned about that he needed to repent them. David was a tortured soul who self destructed and no doubt caused emotional pain to his loved ones but he’s not an ax murderer or serial killer etc just a mixed up man who wanted unconditional love from his father.
