He was a entertainer. You didn't live within his home. Growing up with a alcoholic parent was hell. Having three alcoholic grand parents n several alcoholic other family members. stop the dinking n get your act together. No one should have to stay with u if u won't put the booze or drugs down. Alcoholics can be cruel at home. I feel sorry for the heart ache he brought to his wives, kids n family! He needed intensive private therapy as well. He couldn't just go to aa. Medical monthly injection to help him not drink would of helped him with therapy. Walk away from entertainment pressures. He was not dumb. Work in another field to stay sober. He died to young. His last words where I'm so sorry I wasted my life I'm so sorry. Then he died.

When a couple gets married in there vows it says do your partner for now and forever and you forsake all others.and in sickness and in heath and until death do you part.but no she leaves him when he needs her support he begged her to stay.may if she would of stayef and got help for him he would still be alive

She did - for YEARS! When someone is bent on destruction - eventually, she could not stand by and watch him kill himself. It must have been very hurtful to have to divorce him but standing by someone who is bent on suicide - you shouldn't judge unless you have been there. His organs shut down because he drank himself to death.

He was surrounded by alcohol in his work so yeah change professions if need be. Do what it takes. I read he had hypnotic therapy for his fear of heights when he worked in Vegas maybe he should of tried that for his alcoholism or maybe he did who know's

Remember that alcoholism is a disease. Unfortunately, David didn't get the interventions his family should have made happen with a certified counselor. RIP now sweet boy. You were America's boy sweetheart next door. Your and still love you. All your trials and tribulations are over as you are now in the presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ with the grandparents that basically raised you after your parents divorced. They were God fearing people and taught you the bible.
