Very Clean tractor. Good video. One improvement would be to Take a air hose or rag and clean the area around the fluid fill areas. keeping contaminants out of the hydraulic system is just as important as the quality of the oil.

Thank you for your video, as it was very helpful. I cannot find a good video on maintenence of a Ford 2000. It looks similar to the 4610. Are the oil outlets and fill caps similar? If not, what advice can you give me for proper maintenance

There are separate drain plugs for the transmission and the rear end correct? But the fill for the transmission is on top of the rear end? I am asking be because I have an older tractor than your, a 1970 something 420. However it looks very similar to yours. My transmission fluid is fine but I want to check the rear end fluid. I am not sure where to check. I bought a user manual for it on eBay but the photos in it are poor quality black and many details are nearly impossible to see (I remember that from old car repair manuals. I always preferred drawings over photos).

Great tutorial!! I need your help with my 4610 & identifying a filter. I think it is for the 7209 front end loader. If you could help that would be awesome!!

Although my original owners manual for the 4610 shows a dipstick for checking the differential fluid level on the drivers side of the differential, near the PTO engage lever, my 4610 does not have one. It is not missing, it never had one from the factory. The manual offers no other way to check the level other than drain and refill. Somewhere I thought there was a level check port, like on the side of the transmission, that when the plug was removed, the differential was full when fluid dribbled out. Did you use a port to determine the full level, or did you simply drain till dry, and then refill with the specified capacity? I must say your tractor looks great, whomever painted it did a terrific job. Thanks, Tom
@usa_dobson89672 жыл бұрын
I don’t believe that there is a level check port for the differential. Mine has the dipstick tube, however, it is missing the dipstick. Replacements online are used and about $50, so I just looked up the capacity online and kept track of the amount of fluid I was putting in. Hope this helps!

Late to the conversation...but my 4610 does have a "check level port". On mine it's about a 3/8 square plug (similar looking to a pipe plug). Location is close to where your right heel would be while sitting on the tractor. Remove that plug and fill from the top (like this video suggests) until fluid runs out the port, then reinstall the plug.
@mark98115Ай бұрын
You can never be late to this type of conversation. I have an older tractor, a 420, and was looking for that information. All these tractors are very similar, so I am going to take a look at mine again, using information you've provided.

So what do i do if i can't get all the 7.5 gallons out ? Why is it so milky? Is it fluid? How did milk get in there ? Why don't they make it anymore and how to turbo it to make it cut faster ? Thanks again

Nice Video. I have a 1990 2810 that I am changing fluids on. Does it take 12 gallons total, or 12 in just the rear end hydraulics? I think the back and the transmission are connected and use the same fluid. Do you know if this is correct? thanks.

Is the max oil level for transmission the screw sticking out at 2:06 in the video, just over where is says DB? Or is it on the left side at 1:05, just above the brown/bronze wire? I know you have a dipstick right by the fill plug, but mine one only has a fill plug. My 4610 has a cabin and loader, so it's a bit different.
@usa_dobson8967 Жыл бұрын
I believe the full bolt is located where you first mentioned, right over the “DB”.
