1983 G.I. Joe SkyStriker review part 2 of 2

I just picked up the 30Th anniversay re-issue of this classic toy. When I put it together a flood of memories came over me. However my dad put on the stickers in 1983 and never knew how much work he put into it until now. Thanks dad!

THANK YOU! Awesome, gorgeous. The plane is in great condition. I was 5 in 1985 and I still remember this - ever since I broke mine (the aircraft failed its first flight test) I have yearned, longed, for another one. Many battles, many carrier landings, many losses over swimming pool water. Piece by piece I lost it over the years - but every individual part was good for hours and hours of imagination by itself - the ejection seats, the removable engines, the canopy, everything. True epic win.

@eddiopolis Thanks for watching! Hasbro is re-issuing the Skystriker this year (using the original mold but it does have some differences from the old one). This should make it easier for everyone to own the classic!

Thanks, it's my favorite too! Only the body of the plane and some parts are from my childhood original. Most of the other parts I had to get from toy show meets and a repro-sticker seller.

A tail hook! I always wondered why they had that little open flap thing on the back of the plane! Incidentally, you must be the only other person in the world who was careful with his GI Joe toys as a kid. I've got a Striker in similar condition, packed away in tissue paper somewhere.
