Coach Landry. I sure do miss him. A WWII Vet. What a role model. I sure looked up to him. My high-school principal was a WWII Vet. It is easy to have mad respect for those kinds of people. Plus, my grandpa wore a fedora hat.

I just want to write you saying that this middle-aged old man of 48 has emotional happy tears finding your wonderful video of this to me most special game. I was born in 73 and my young ripe age of 2 was already a true blue, and silver Cowboys can thanks to my grandfather. It wouldn't be until this 1983 season that my lifelong dream of seeing my Dallas cowboys came true. Oh this September 18, 1983 Home opener it was one of my most special days with my father...we rode a greyhound bus from San Antonio to Irving for the game and I couldn't talk for days afterwards back in school because my voice was still hoarse lol. Drew Pearson, Tony Dorsett, Danny White, Tony Hill, Doug Cosbie, Ron Springs, Robert Newhouse, defense with Too Tall Jones, Randy White, Harvey Martin, John Dutton, Everson Walls, Dennis Thurman, Bob Bruenig!!!!! All these guys are now Cowboys legends!!! If course Tom Landry on those sidelines and facing a young Bill Parcells, Lawrence Taylor, Harry Carson.....wow what nostalgia and good memories. You have my forever gratitude for showing this and I pray you keep it on! Thank you!

That Everson Walls interception that he returned the 1 yard line reminded me of his interception against the Redskins in 1990 when he was a New York Giant. I remember the guys on the sideline making a big deal about it being his first interception returned for a touchdown in his career. That’s how I knew that this one wasn’t going to be a score. But gosh, he got close.

I miss so much about this era of football, and if I could change one thing about the present day NFL, I would eliminate, eviscerate, destroy, outlaw, ban and burn this absolutely pathetic and absurd practice of defenses running to the end zone after every damn turnover so they can pose and grandstand like immature children. It’s infuriating. Bad enough that they don’t have the decorum-filter or class about them to see it as being a tacky idea, but the fact that it is becoming so predictable and automatic makes it exponentially worse. How long is the fanbase going to tolerate this garbage? At the very least, give them a delay of game penalty. I would rather fine them. Better still, toss them out of the game. They used to celebrate like men, with dignity and earnest enthusiasm. Now they are all social media whores and attention addicts, desperate to promote their “brand”. How about just focusing on a team concept and try to win a Super Bowl?

I agree with everything you said. Unfortunately I think the fans and the NFL are in favor of this garbage. It's entertainment now. Not Athletics. Not sport.
