It is so nice to see Wolverine and Cover Girl reviewed with FormBX257 quality. It's also nice to see that damned tow rope intact! :)

If your willing to pay a premium, you can maybe get an unbreakable METAL tow rope replacement!

i feel like the fact that her character bio was that she was a former model,so i feel like the longer blonde hair fit the character more.

I've always had a fondness for support vehicles like the Slugger and Wolverine, I actually think the code name Cover Girl, while alluding to her super model bio, referenced her covering attacking front line units. Granted, I also think the Wolverine is a great smll, pack a punch, light vehicle, there is a bias. Great review!

I'm guessing the tow cable suffered the same thing a lot of the figure's thumbs did where the plastic itself did actually suffer from 30 years of age and lost some of its flexibility. Weirdly enough, GI Joe seems to be a line from the 80s that suffers that particular issue more than some others. Maybe it was the lack of softer plastics for the limbs and such, or the particular plastic used didn't age well. Not that toys back then were intended to last 30 years, or even more than 3-5, the fact they did hold up was probably a testament to material quality used. More than I can say for a lot of modern toys which use cheaper materials and probably won't be intact in 30 years.

as a toy solid. as a female character she held her own very well in the show and comics. gijoe was well ahead of its time.

as a kid, I never liked the hard molded threads on vehicles ... the only plus is, you don't have to worry about rubber rot.

Nice review. The Wolverine always came across to me as a sort of "missile armed Ontos"

I liked female action figures, in the 80's. :) I thought that they were essential, to the toy lines. :) Jinx was my favorite G.I.Joe figures, back then. :D

Well that explains why the D!C animated series used 1991 G.I. Joe's during the 1990 tv series.

Hasbro have the sales numbers for figures? Really? Where can you see them? I never understood the whole female figure thing. I had 2 Leia's (Boushh and Endoor) and I would have loved the other 3. One of the first Joes I ever bought (as 'Action Force' along with Blowtorch, Destro and Torpedo) was Baroness, and she was then, and is now, one of my favourite figures. I also got Lady Jaye later. I always wanted but could never find Scarlett and Zarana. I definitely remember seeing Jinx in store and trying to decide between her and another character (the other character won out), and I always regretted not getting her. I believe even though Cover Girl was never released in the UK, the Stun motorcycle came with Quarrel, who I think was cast from Scarlett, and I imagine that would count as a sort of UK replacement. Maybe they thought that _three_ female Joes would be too much!

Hasbro's distributors collect information from various retailors in order to set the ratio of characters within a case. Unfortunately, its closely guarded information (even 30 years later!) so exact numbers cannot be found anywhere, only vague ratios. The only sales/production/case ratios ever leaked out was for some of the 1986 cases, I remember how little Zarana was packed in them. Bad guys also had a lower ratio-per-case than good guys. I wish Hasbro produced female figures in greater numbers (Baroness was nearly impossible for me to find in 1984-85) but the retailors had control over how much got produced. Bad guys=lower, girls=lower... Bad girls=way lower.

formbx257 I've always been curious about the number produced. Like how many flaggs were produced or v1 snake eyes for instance... Any idea?

I want to unload my GI Joe collection, How do I get the most money for my collection? I was selling piece by piece on ebay, but shipping and fees cost too much. Are people having luck selling on Facebook?
@formbx2577 жыл бұрын
I've never sold/traded directly through Facebook. You might want to try joining a collecting forum like YoJoe or HISSTank and find collectors near you to reduce shipping fees.
