To the first clip, I get the stress of a mother in hospital, having lost my mother to cancer, but singing can really help to relieve that and shouldn’t be seen as insensitive. I remember headed to the home of a widow after her husband’s service. I don’t remember exactly how they got the topic, but somehow everyone in the car was singing the Mickey Mouse Club theme song. Entire car of grown women, 80% of whom were over 50 years old, reciting a song of their childhood. It was beautifully cathartic and I think helped the widow get through the last hours of that day.
