The era I grew up with. Football ⚽️ not the same anymore 😪

Thank god. It was ugly kick and rush football. No first touch. Long balls constantly. Lucky to string 4 passes together at most.

@@Pdmc-vu5gj yep and no VAR crap. Or diving around. Or big money 💰 taking over and killing smaller clubs. And you obviously must have been watching Wimbledon or something back then. 🙄

Everton's support was awesome. Full of passion.

Was at this game in the end where all the goals went in. The clip says Everton had played 43 games and seemed to suffer fatigue. Everton came into the game 3 days after a hard fought match in Munich against Bayern in the old Cup winners cup semi final. With sharper finishing the Luton forward, NWAJIOBI could have put the game out of sight for his team. Instead Everton showed great professionalism equalising then finishing strongly in extra time. This Everton team came within a whisker of a Treble that season, league title, European trophy, only to lose in extra time in the FA Cup final, again playing an important game 3 days after a European Cup Winners final. This would not happen a decade later. Luton had some very good players on show here and competed well in the rest of the 1980s. If we only retained FA Cup finals both at 3pm on neutral club grounds. Clubs were never told that they would be played at the new Wembley to increase revenue for the debt payments on the new ground, a magical time in the season was lost forever for the fans and players at the excitement of reaching a Wembley Cup final.
