While the 1984 Corvette may not have been as well-received as some previous models, it did contribute to the development of subsequent generations of Corvette engines. It was one of the early examples of Chevrolet's attempts to meet emission regulations and improve fuel efficiency, which eventually led to advancements in engine technology in later Corvette models. This evolutionary process helped pave the way for more powerful and efficient engines in subsequent generations of Corvettes.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, there were significant developments in emissions standards in the United States and other countries. Automakers had to adapt their engines and technologies to comply with these stricter emissions laws. The introduction of the crossfire injection V8 engine in the 1984 Corvette was part of Chevrolet's efforts to meet these evolving emissions requirements while still providing a performance-oriented sports car.

This car will EXPLODE in value, as it's a low mileage, first year C4 generation corvette with the original motor and everything. It will become more valuable then any other year of that generation corvette.

I have a 1984 with 36000 miles. Mine was one of the 1st 2000 made. I never understood why this car was hated so much.

the real issue is that this was the 2nd worse year for a vette next to 1982. Cross port injection was terrible.

Yet another person who can't seem to get past the engine of the 1984 corvette, yet it helped make leaps and bounds for the next generation. Every engine is better then the next in any generation corvette... you're an idiot. @@honchoryanc

205 hp... There's tons of reasons I could write a book on why CFI lasted 3 yrs. Yes I've owned one. Yes I used to embarrass them with 305 powered F-bodys.
@JosephHowes20033 жыл бұрын
Wasn't it still better than the previous engine used in the C3s? So it was still an upgrade at the time. The same engine doesn't seem to get criticized nearly as much when talking about the '82 as it is when talking about the '84.
@gabelofi Жыл бұрын
@@dustinmccain1215 Okay, L98 and LT1. The LT1 makes 300 horsepower and the L98 only made 245. What about that? You gonna hate the "horrible" L98 because it made less horsepower then the LT1?
@dustinmccain1215 Жыл бұрын
Nope. L98 was a great engine that's why it ran like 7-8yrs. CFI- NOPE! Lasted 2-3
