Was surprisingly good in snow as long as it wasn't deep enough to turn the air dam into a snowplow--a couple of times I very carefully backed it up to somebody who was stuck and got them unstuck. I had it over 140 a couple of times--it felt rock-stable at that speed, no drama at all. Took many 1000+ mile drives in it and it was a comfortable cruiser. Heat wasn't great--don't know if that was a design issue or if there was an issue with mine. Might get another one at some point, although a C8 is tempting. Paid about 14K for mine IIRC.

I put styling in quotes because I don't recall the exact entity that did the work, but the restoration was completed in-house at GM facilities. I do remember that the last of the C3's we're done in the new Bowling Green plant. Corvette had been built in St. Louis. I like the convertible body better on the C3, C4, C5 and C6. The early 80s special effects in the commercial seemed to overshadow the car. The C4 was a huge departure from the C3 and I think was a sign the Malaise Era was starting to end, especially with the tuned port injection introduced in 1985.

Hoovie is a lucky dude. Actress/supermodel who really likes him AND is into cool cars that don’t cost huge amounts (well, there is the GNX I guess). Life is good. I’ll wave to you folks at Barrett-Jackson next month.

He's been an actual saint in dozens of previous lives probably. Jackpot. Imagine telling your mates that you're going to buy a boring old farmstead in Kansas and there's a total car nut practicing supermodel that's going to be all over you and your cars.

Only one Callaway C4 Sledgehammer was ever made! Yes that one that made front page of every car magazine and rewrote records with it's incredible 254mph top speed yet it never was sold! Reeves Callaway displayed it in museums and finally sold at auction! Unfortunately we lost Reeves Callaway last year at the age of 76!

I drove a 95 C4 for a long time and I loved it. My only gripe about the car would have been the rubber coating on the face of the dash. That stuff was crap! Fun car MPG was pretty nice loved the Targa top.

C4s are unloved, underrated gems. They are good cars you can get for not a lot of money.

Elder millennial here (late 30s)! I would love to have one of these. It doesn't need to be fast, just a comfortable cruiser. Also, metric is the superior measurement.

Actually. They did build a small number of 1983 corvettes as test mules. Production never began on them and the general ordered them all destroyed (like they unfortunately always do) but the employees hid 1 and then it resurfaced years later. It’s currently on display at the national corvette museum in bowling green Kentucky.

My favorite C4 is a 91. It has the nice tail and best engine next to the LT5 in the ZR1. The L98 had near 400 ft lbs of torque in 91 and you could get them with a 6spd manual. They also had a blueish grey paint color in 91 that was awsome.

250hp and 350lb-ft, both 20 more than the first one in 1985.

I got a 1996 LT4 6 speed black on black about 6 months ago and I'm in my early 40's. It's a blast to drive and so cheap compared to anything else that can compare. I see the market going up in the future but who knows!
