Hey man, you check your injector return lines for fuel leaks?? just a suggestion, mine use to start great even at -15*C not plugged in then one day started like shit, found out there was air getting into my fuel system, and now after fixing the lines, starts like a dream again.

It sounds like the original direct-drive starter motor was replaced with the more common gear-reduction type!

ClassicTVMan1981X, that’s what the factory starter sounded like, diesels always run reduction starters, that idi has a 20+:1 compression ratio

yea but they make a gear redused starter got the 6.9 i got one because mine killed batteries on cold days hated to turn because i never thin oil for winter
