Her solos in the '84 show are about as close to perfect as a human being or a machine can ever hope to reach.

Thank you for keeping this video up. I've seen her playing one heart one hand (so appropriate) since I was a child. To finally hear you speak is a gift. thank you

The first show I ever saw. Fall 1984 my band director showed us this show. He wanted to know, collectively, if we wanted to be a Friday night band, or reach! Well, we wanted to reach. I borrowed that VHS tape and wore it out. I was stunned!!! The next season (about a month from November rehearsal, 1985 On the Waterfront, I was in Garfield NJ. Baritone in hand. I was stunned by The Cadets from that show. She and Holy Name moved to to passionate love for DCI! Wow, she could blow! Majestic!!!

what a refreshing and right to the point interview! Barbara has always been a class act and a great person. She put everything she had into her music/solos. I can remember a time in Atlanta when the drumline came over to do a run-through with the rest of the corps and as we were waiting for the horn line to finish their practice, we could hear Barbara playing her solo. It gave us goosebumps! It was truly amazing and inspirational to say the least. Loved marching that show with so many great friends. :) - The Kid '79 - '84

And yes, ladies and gentlemen..... she did all this WITH ONE HAND. Think marching drum corps is easy? Well, it isn't easy - but imagine doing it with only one hand. That was one tough, courageous woman.
