Not only the first one they ever made, but IMO, but the best one! My grandfather bought the one I have new back in April of 1984. I spent my childhood riding it around. When I bought my own home, 3 years ago, my dad gave it to me. She hadn't been ran in about 15 years. A carb, tires and a battery later, she was cruising the yard and fields as she was intended to do so! I drive it almost daily in the spring, summer and fall. She does all of my hauling of limbs, sticks, stone, mulch, you name it, she does it. Still runs absolutely amazing and when called up, she'll wind out all 5 gears like no one else! Long live the 1984 TRX200!!

Stumbled on this video and brings back so many memories! TRX200 was the first large purchase I made with my own money from working. I was 14. Paid $1750 for it! Added a Hondaline speedo to it and put if I remember right over 7000 miles on it in a year. Rode the wheels off that and loved every second! I had it for around 3-4 years before I sold it and wish I never had. The brochure brings back memories too because I remember having that and studying every word in it! Great video!

WOW! that's great. I remember seeing the TRX200 running around back in the mid 80's, but mostly 3 wheelers. I didn't know that Honda made a 1988 250es Big Red, thought that 87' was the last year which was rare. One boy I knew had an 86 Big red , and the biggest difference i seen was that the neutral and Reverse light was reversed on the panel and the stickers had a different graphic and a gray seat cover. I've seen more 1985 Big Red's more than any other year. I've Had 3 different 85' 250es Big Reds in the past, man what a machine they were!
@ThisOldTrike2 жыл бұрын
So 1987 was the last year for the Big Red in the US. Honda continued to sell it in Europe, Australia and NZ (possibly other countries too). My 88 came from England though. You are right though, 85 is the most common year and the production numbers go down every year after that. They are fantastic machines!

Found many 85 and 86 250. But I always wanted a 84 200. Last summer found one town over from me. Sadly my fun funds were low as I had just bought a 200 sport Trax, 2 moto4 225, moto4 250 and a warrior all the month before. Brother in law ended up going and picking it up for my nephew.
