Hey Steve Hegg, if you're out there. I raced against you in San Diego back in perhaps 1981. You had recently transitioned to racing on the track and you were a nice guy and an excellent rider. I'm happy for you and all the successes you have had. I hope life is treating you well these days (2023).

I was there that day... and made a cameo in that video!! So fun. Mark Gorski and Nelson Vails also competed that day in the individual sprint final.

At the Tour DuPont, Steve signed my club jersey during warmups. I couldn't believe it! Then, Sean Kelly rode by and signed it too. That jersey has been hanging with all my other cycling stuff for decades now (sorry). I met two of the greatest cyclists within 10 minutes. It was inspiring.
