I owned an 84 Peugeot 505 for 28 years. Similar I-4 engine engine, which was fine with a 5 speed manual, not with a three speed auto. I’d have bought a Volvo but it was priced $1K more.

240 and just the GLE is the best Volvo ever. Runs smooth, very alert and even in revs and most important of all, it does not have the typical Volvo sickness that use to show itself as a very thirsty and bad running car. No this is the shit people, GLE and also GLT are great Volvos (but avoid the 6 Volvo cylinders, they are never good)
