I was only 9 at the time but I was about to head to bed on a school night when I heard my Dad scream “ohhhhhh!!!!”. I had to come out to see what happened & it was Theismann’s Broken leg. So nasty

Anyone have the full game? I am glad to find this footage but it was a great game overall and it would be nice to see from start to finish.

I remember being excited that Jay Schroeder was coming into the game with his strong arm. Jay did not disappoint. The Redskins suddenly were a legit threat for long completions.

When Jay wasn't overthrowing recievers or throwing interceptions but yes he had a strong arm.

33 years to the day after this took place, WFT QB Alex Smith would suffer the same horrendous fate.

Best performance of his career. He was never that accurate again.

He was inconsistent as hell. Great athlete, strong arm, tough. But not a great leader and made some boneheaded mistakes.
@gerrypeet4861 Жыл бұрын
This game is why he still has devoted fans to this day. He was inconsistant and apparently alienated many on the team. That's not what you want from your quarterback. That's why Doug Williams eventually replaced him. Williams was also inconsistant but a good leader and there's the difference.
