NFC East Games were the most important: From 86,87,90,91,92,93,95, the winner of the rivalries won the Superbowl. 12-4 wasn't good enough to win this division in 86! Cowboys, PHI, NYG, WAS, 4 teams that all hate eachother, The Eagles were the only non SB champ but they were always a tough game, and almost always ended up being one of the 2-3 losses on the 13-3 Division champ 1 seed.

To the contrary Walter White. The injury to Theismann was a blessing in disguise, as his QB skills had declined markedly by 1985. It provided him with a graceful exit and prevented Gibbs with the tough decision of having to bench him later that year for Schroeder. Theismann's last good year was '84. Without his injury they probably never would have signed Doug Williams as a backup in '86, which led to the Schroder/Williams QB by committee in '87. Suffice it to say that without Theismann's MNF injury in '85, the Redskins would not have won the Super Bowl two years later.
