Ha; I can attest to the chocolate donuts and grape soda. We had a mini 'Dreadnok party' when I completed my collection of all the vintage Dreadnoks.

I Love it!!!! The grape soda and donut thing was the old school of the Old School .... People wouldn't get the reference, these days. I picked up my Gristle. Going to give him the Deadnock treatment, as well. If you need cycles for your Dreadnocks, you can get them at Walmart for around 5 or 10 bucks each. Maisto bikes- mainly Harley's.

Another great review! I love this figure and made sure to include him early on when I was transforming the Marauder gun Runner figures into Gi. Joe's. Incase you're wondering... I did not eat chocolate covered doughnuts and didn't drink grape soda during their creation. That would have been foolish! 😐

Fantastic review am having Cherry Coke and Tacos to enjoy the review! I don't consider them a sub-team but a separate faction of mercenaries. Buzzer was my first Dreadnok figure and perfect timing as I just had to give him a new O-Ring when I noticed the old one snapped. Also appropriate I chose to watch this review and not Return of the Jedi!

Buzzer was my favorite Dreadnok for many years until Roadpig stole the show. Putting as many Dreadnoks as I could fit on the Thunder Machine was a common play pattern for me.

interstingly, despite G.I.Joe being considered as jingoistic and militaristic, Dreadnocks and in particular Buzzer are the only Cobra elements that can be considered as "leftist" - apart from that in comics we had ex-used car salesmen, aristocrat gun-dealer, another aristocrat (OK, Baroness was typical rich girl turned ideogist turned just terrorist), a "monarch", corporate lawyers etc. And typical bad guys of 80s - Warsaw Pact soldiers - October Guard were sometimes allies, mostly opponents, but not typical enemies (while Hama used some stereotypes for them they were not shown as incompetent or cowardly or overtly irrational).

Somehow I still remember the song from that episode "We're Cold Slither you'll be joining us soon. A band of vipers playing our tune." I may have gotten a word or two wrong but it kinda blew my mind that the second you mentioned the band the song popped in my head. ...and I agree GI Joe was best when it was military based. The best toys were the ones based in reality. When they started with the different colors and the toys got more fanciful I lost interest.

Great review. I think what Hasbro should have done with the orginal Drednoks was to include a motorcycle with them and charge a little more than just a figure. So Thrasher, Ripper, Torch, Monkeywrench and Road Pig could've been bikers as the comics and story lines suggested. Plus if a figure was 2.99 at the store, they could've gone for say 4.99.

Being born in the latter part of the 70s kind of put me in a weird spot culturally for marketing - too young really for the best years of GI Joe and just barely catching the Transformers train, and too Old for TMNT. A little too young to be "College Age" GenX during the Grunge heyday, too old for Jnco pants. As I get older, and I start to see the repeating cycles of life - I'm kind of thinking, the 90s was very - 1950s in a way. The Post-Cold War Era. Then the 60s/2000s parallels - like a 40 year thing or some such...
