If ypu get the disk drive you don't need the stand. You don't really need it even if you don't get the drive but it seems too easy to tip over. However if your console is someone where the risk of tipping the stand is not needed.

Consoles aren't like pc. I think changing the cpu causes a compatibility issue with the previous games that came out on the regular ps5. That's what i've heard, but then again, I could be wrong. 🤷

@@dcb6729 That's why developers patch games. If they can port console games to PC,they can patch them to run on slightly different versions of the same console. There are 791 games for PS5 but only 50 will run on the Pro right now because they were patched.

How is it a scam? They’ve told you the price and what you’re getting if you buy it, it’s up to you if you buy it or not, I don’t see where the scam is. 700$ without a disk drive or stand, so it's more like 800$. This is a pro model so it's expected to replace thenstandard for some users, which means most customers can't play their games without at least the disk drive. I certainly do t have the horizontal space to put it so the stand is nessesary for me, if I get it.

@jeffalv6176 I've never paid insurance for tech thst isn't in motion, like a car or smartphone. Had the ps5 for about three years with no issue, cuz it doesnt move, so long as I pop it open and clean the dust However I didn't account for sales tax so sub-850 if you pre-ordered it and paid for shipping as well. At that price range, I'd rather shell out the extra dosh for a kick ass gaming laptop (which will ironically come with a disk drive I likely won't use, lol)

Unfortunately I didn't get a ps5 on release, so I thought I might as well wait for the Pro. After the price was fixed, I only bought a second-hand slim and I'm happy with it. I also have a PC that can do more than 120fps, but the slim is perfectly adequate for games on the TV. If I didn't have a PC, I would have got the Pro.

Sony is notorious for creating new things that they quickly don’t support. My first PS4?was the pro as it had significant increase in storage and power compared to Original. Dont get me wrong; I am a Sony fan from the PS1-Ps2 era. I still have those consoles but I have hesitations on new things from Sony. I was really bummed with investing in the psvr only to see them have limited games for it and for them to replace it with a psvr2 . They barely supported the original psvr with games. I feel like the pros best use case will come about the time they release the 6 I’ll wait and see. I’ve owned at least one version of PlayStation. The only one I never bought was PS3 as it was so expensive. I think the PS5 Pro is a bit pricey for what I need. My vision isn’t as good as it was 30 years ago so all that fidelity won’t be noticed by my older eyes!

There is no reason for there to be a pro model nowadays, it is completely imperceptible the difference that it makes. The only thing that would validate a pro console now would be if it had hardware features that "Professionals" need, but are not on the standard version, and judging by how this doesn't have a disk drive, this does not meet that criteria.
