This series is great! I just bought a 1985 Elite 250 all original with around 350 original miles but it was left outdoors under pine trees it's whole life. Your videos are a big help getting mine going again. Please keep them coming!

Fantastic video. I'd really love to watch you restore a Helix. I'm looking forward to watching the Morphus next. I have a Helix and am quite interested in picking up a Morphus if I can find one in good shape. Thanks for your attention to detail and sage advice on doing a proper job.

I resurrected a gold one.. I'm slowly but surely replacing and changing most everything on it. it only took a few hours to get it running. Went through carb.. air filter.. plug. Even has alarm on it. Its fast.. and sturdy. Next fix is trans gaskets.. oil. Check everything in there.

Nice video..you made us wait a while between vids! The Bopper gets pretty good reviews from the Helix users, with the knock being shorter tread life. Good move going back to the OEM tire size. Never did understand why Honda chose to put 62 mph rated tires on the Helix and Elite 250. I went with the Heidenau K61’s on my Helix, an M rated tire (81 mph)..nice handling and ride, so far. Can’t wait to follow your progress with the new Elite.

Thanks Steve! Good to hear the Boppers are decent. Anything is better than those trail tires that were on it. I also got a FREE set of them as well since the first set was lost by FedEx and another set was sent out. 2 weeks later the first set that was lost arrived. Bonus! I tried to return them since my integrity got in the way but was told to keep them. Insurance already covered them.I'll show the spare set in my next video.. Will be set on tires for a while! Lol

Do you have any videos on changing the oil for the 250?

When removing the back tire, he took off the big nut and then the swing arm. my swinging arm seems to be stuck on the axle. Is there another nut/bearing I dont know about holding the swing arm I don’t know about or do you think it’s just rust?

From factory, it did not have that much pinstripe on it that yours add, someone added more pin stripe to it over the years. Only the front and the 2 side panels had the pinstripe and the optional fairing had it.
@rubytheelite2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree. You could easily tell it wasn't original. There was a decal stripe kit from Hondaline you could buy but I have no idea what that looks like. I have only seen the one made for the Spree.

Your attention to detail is superb. Great videos and nice looking scoots! I myself have a 1985 Elite 150 Deluxe that I’m in the process of bringing back to life. I got her running great and put 16 miles on her yesterday with no issues. However, today it stalled on me a few times. I’m thinking it may or may not have something to do with the inline fuel filter I installed. Typically I don’t run them because of fuel flow issues, but I decided to try one on the 150. Do you run an inline fuel filter on your 150? If so, where can I purchase the same exact one. Thanks!

Hey C W! Thanks for the nice compliments! I try my best to bring these old scoots back to life! Are you sure your petcock is working correctly? I've had to replace every single one on my old bikes. A cheap Chinese one is all I use since it's such a simple device and inexpensive. The online filter I bought right from Honda. I use www.hondapartsnation.com to look up parts and Partzilla.com usually to order them.

@@rubytheelite yes sir, brand new petcock, fuel line and vacuum line. The tank was cleaned as well. OEM carb was cleaned too. It was running great yesterday. I’m baffled. I think I’m going to take the filter off and see if the problem persists. Thanks for commenting back.

I found the problem. I had a massive crack in the rubber intake manifold. Ordered a Chinese one off eBay and the bike runs great again 🤙🏻

Absolutely love these videos. I have a same color 85 Honda Elite 250 with 7600 miles that is in need of some plastic and paint work. I was wondering where you found the third party air filter at? Mines completely dirty and is in need of replacement. I am glad I watched your video before going the route of replacing my blown out pogo stick rear shocks. So glad to learn that the PCX150’s will be a better replacement than the CB variants. Do you plan on redoing the front suspension at all?
@rubytheelite3 жыл бұрын
Hello MaximusRS3! Thankful for the nice comments! As far as the air filter I just found it on Amazon. Below is a link for you. I'm still in the process of getting the bike done. As far as the shocks, I haven't test drove it yet....Stay tuned on that. Lol...Hopefully that goes to plan!. They seem to fit ok is all I know so far. I will look at the front suspension soon. It's on the list to address. Thanks again! Hiflofiltro HFA1202 Premium OE Replacement Air Filter www.amazon.com/dp/B00310Z90W/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_DWPYK6TAHPK97XSPKA6V?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Question, do you know how to get spray paint color R141 Bitter red to match the paint the center plastic has of the CH250? Not sure where to start, maybe home Depot can color match or Sherman Williams.

The shocks are from a 2013 Honda PCX150. You can purchase these through Honda new or find a used set on Ebay.

@@rubytheelite Hello, great video. I was wondering about the PCX150 shocks. Will it fit on my 1986 Honda Elite 150 Deluxe? Also, do you have any information on how to replace the front shocks? Thank you for your time and keep up the great work.
@rubytheelite Жыл бұрын
I never tried the shocks except on the Elite 250. The shocks changed from the 84 elite 125 to the 86 Elite 150 so I wouldn't be able to tell you. The front shocks on my Elite 125 are fine so again I don't have an answer for you.
