For these old Mercedes, like W123 or W1240would it be a good idea to tee off those 4 important vacuum lines and have them connect to a row of 4 vacuum gauges on the dashboard?. Then there will be no uncertainties and the handphone could be used record gear changes vs rpm vs speed vs vacuum reading.🎉🎉🎉

Hi nice job . I have a 77 no vacuum on transmission it works with a leveler rod. I dont seem to have 4th any ideas. Its have a turbo engine not sure if its original. I think it was upgraded to a turbo . Engine works well just 4th gear . I did transmission fluid and filter

My 300d is having these terrible flares where I’ll get to about 60mph and it won’t shift up or at low speed it will just flare when I go lightly on the acceleratoe

Check vacuum modulator and vacuum lines as well as boden cable adjustment. All need to be correct to avoid shift flares.

Great video! I'm fighting through some transmission shifting issues with my 300CD and my switchover valve on the firewall that you point out isn't holding vacuum either. Is it supposed to? I can't quite find good information on how to diagnose it online.

It has 2 vacuum lines that feed it, 1 is supposed to have a orifice in it to supply less vacuum when cold. Once warmed up it switches to the other line without the orifice. This supposedly provides smoother shifts while the trans is cold. You can probably bypass it without any noticeable difference.

Hey man, Im having trouble on mine and I was hoping you could help. The vacuum hose from the shutoff valve came loose and now the car won't stop when I take the key out. I was wondering if you could tell me where to connect the hose from the valve to the ignition switch -- I just can't find where I need to plug it in and there's no picture or guide explaining it that I can find on KZbin

From your vacuum line that goes to the brake booster, you will have a vacuum line that goes into the car to the ignition switch. (The port closest to the mounting port goes to the vacuum shutoff valve and the one furthest goes to the booster vacuum line.) The line leaving the ignition switch will go down to the shutoff valve on the injection pump. Look between the Alda and oil filter housing and you should see it. Make sure you have no other vacuum leaks.
