There is definately something going on with that coin. I can see the thickness in some places as you pointed out. I bet it would be something to watch the manufacturing of these coins at the mint. I once worked at Standard Register (long since gone) and, in addition to printing many forms, they manufactured paper money for an African country in their Connecticut Plant. I was allowed to watch the process from a short distance, the security didn't allow anyone to get close to the operation. Interesting stuff, but minting coins would have been more interesting.

Hello again Stax! I looked at some other years of DDO on Wexler's double die sight and saw some DDO's had the separation thickness on the left side and another year had it on the right side of the word Liberty on the coins. Anyway I will hang on to this coin. I have other years of coins that have similar varieties on them. Thanks for watching and commenting.
