1986 Chef Boyardee Pizza Commercial

Some 30 years after this commercial aired it's more poignant than hunger-inducing. The Rearicks actually lived in Westerville, OH. Dad Norman passed away in 2016 at the age of 73. Survived by wife Carolyn, and his 4 children seen in the commercial who are now older than their dad was in this commercial.

I vaguely remember this commercial. I like the fact that the end of the commercial they all Clapt supported mom and the family. I thought that was awesome and genuine moment that you don't see in commercials today.

I worked with Norm(the dad) for almost 20 years. He was as good a person as you would ever hope to meet.

I went to school with one of the children. I remember seeing this commercial on tv back in 1986/87 and laughing because I recognized her!

Should be around their 50's by now. I don't recall seeing that commercial in Houston, TX back in 1986.

Open note to the husband-father. Even if was a local pizza place, why would someone order a pizza topping that they didn't like? For instance, if husband-father didn't like Anchovies, why would he order it whether it be Chef Boyardee or the local pizza place, nearest to where he lives?

I believe dad isn’t talking particular toppings, but rather he likes the blank canvas of a Chef Boyardee cheese pizza to add toppings and amounts exactly how the family likes.

My guess is the production team simply messed up. It was actually filmed in Westerville, and they just typed it in wrong.
