I can't get over how smooth Lechien looks. I witnessed something I've never seen before or since when Lechien went from holeshot to checkers in the first moto of the 1987 Southwick motocross national at a speed I didn't know was possible. I was there and he made the rest of the field look like B-class riders including RJ, Hannah, Wardy and the rest. Not once did he let up on the throttle as he carved his way around the deep sand. I was beyond lucky to watch this happen in person as watching it on video just doesn't translate the speed in which he was traveling. Just unbelievable.

i'm european, and i'd give anything to watch this back in times. Only Bailey is missing here, and we have the perfect sample of modern motocross birth. The Nations MX was a blast that year.

Johnson was more fun to watch than any other rider of that era. The way he could come through the pack and then just smoke everyone was always awesome to see.

What's this about stunts in a movie called holeshot? I've looked and can't find anything about it.
