I built a box looks like a speaker box in my 91 gt and also my 89 gt and you can hide nitrous in beside it. I wanted to be different then having aluminum or plastic box

We ran the battery 🔋 in the trunk, with a master disconnect. With the length of all the cables the 5.0litre would not start when hot. New starter, with optima battery too. We didn’t try a gear ⚙️ reduction race starter, too much money 💰. Sometimes we’d have to time the cranks and it would finally start. We used copper welders cable too. Better than most cable. In a serious accident too you need to worry about acid. Some don’t mount and seal battery 🔋 right. You need a battery vent too running outside the vehicle 🚗 to pass racetrack tech. We moved the battery 🔋 back to original location but threw out all our battery mounting pieces! Doh! Plus the car won’t even crank over now...🤬not sure if it’s viper alarm 🚨 related or wtf... Fuel pump works, all electrical works but engine won’t turn over. So we have work to do . Great 👍 video thanks
@HOUSEOFDULA5 жыл бұрын
Appreciate it man! Yeah, right about all things here. I went with an optima finally. Dry cell. Still Its a B to get it all cranking right. The only real option here is a high torque mini starter, or as you did move the battery back. First test drive with battery moved to truck I learned the hard way and the car stranded me at the store with a stock starter because it overheated.

Nice video. I have a 0 gage amp kit in my garage. Can I use it for battery relocation? Is it diferent or it's a special wire?

as long as its stranded copper wire youre good to go

Working on an 86 hatch, and love being able to watch all your videos before I do any modifications. Question, on how the wire is holding up.
@HOUSEOFDULA3 жыл бұрын
Holding up great, zero issues thus far.

Did you consider a lightweight battery such as Brail(sic) ? Battery weighs about what the cables weigh. I'm going to do that vice, trunk mount.
@HOUSEOFDULA6 жыл бұрын
Thats a great idea, I didnt even consider a "lightweight" battery. Wondering about costs...looking at Brialle's site now, curious.

hey Mike. happy thanksgiving.... You should test fit the battery terminals on the battery in the box so that you can mock up how you want them to run,, I would run them out the side to the rear inner hatch panel and then under either inside the car by the rocker panel or better out under the car and by then up by the driver side subrfame connector to the solenoid. Yo dont have to run the ground all the way to the block. You can ground it to the quad shock bracket and then I would add another ground from the block to the chassis up front. Run the vent tob away from the gas tank and exuast. I would also put some nuts on the threaded rod in the bottom of the battery box so it doesnt deflect and twist under load. Nice idea ofwelding nuts to the floor. Never thought of that one...
@HOUSEOFDULA7 жыл бұрын
All good ideas. Typing this, Ive already ran the cable and filed it, just waiting on finalizing and editing :) Worked well though, and I thought about doubling up that nut as well. Good idea. Especially on hard turns and launches, I need that thing to stay put!

Hey Mike. Maybe I missed it in the video....what did you do about the computer ground quick disconnect on the stock negative battery cable??
@HOUSEOFDULA5 жыл бұрын
So, I did a wire tuck. All the sock groud cables we're moved to the insite of the fender, to a bolt, on that bolt is the negative cable going straight to the battery. Then also from that bolt, I have another cable going to the block. So, the rear chassis, frnt chassis, and the block is all grounded straight to the battery...hopefully that makes sense.
@TheNiblet825 жыл бұрын
@@HOUSEOFDULA I recall watching the wire tuck video. Didn't even think to go back to that one. Thanks Mike. Can't even begin to tell how much your videos have helped me with my fox.

Good work mike! not sure how much that speaker wire cost but I know a lot of guys run 0 gauge welding cable wires as well. Just sharing options and ideas. Also, the plastic box is much better. I had a UPR aluminum box back in the day. I always arc'd when it came time to change a battery and also fried my alternator during the relocation install somehow. lol... Great work though! p.s. you can run a 140amp alternator out of a sn95 car on your setup you'll just have to grind some metal off the backside of the bracket for the top bolt to line up. Happy Thanksgiving!
@HOUSEOFDULA7 жыл бұрын
Happy Thanksgiving Scott. Appreciate the comment. This cable had excelent reviews on amazon. Flexible and easy to work with. We'll see if it hold up. I cant imagine working with a thicker cable though lol creates issues fitting it in spaces. Spend yesterday (thankgsgiving) in the garage cabling it, and spent about 6 hours on it, almost done....An alternator upgrade is coming!

Mike Dula Right on man. I'm sure the cable will be good to go. I can't wait to see the next video. Glad you and the family had a Happy Thanksgiving. Cheers!

Any issues with that aluminum cable? A lot of people say it’s junk.
@HOUSEOFDULA5 жыл бұрын
None as of yet and its been about a year. Thats also why i went overkill on the gauge too. Nice and flexible. Time on this stuff will tell. Not sure id use it in a coastal region or humid area and the car sat outside though!

Not to be an a$$hole know-it-all, but 1/0 is read as "Single Zero Gage" as there are audio wires that go up to 4/0. that wire has 4x strands of that 1/0 you got right there. good channel, good video, I'm just an electrical guy... thought i could maybe help. trying to see where everyone is routing wires before i jump in the same pool. lol

Pro tip. Get rid of the intro. Those are old news and annoying.
@HOUSEOFDULA5 жыл бұрын
Thought about it a few times...or shortening it. But I'm keeping it, I like it. I like how so many have tips on music or not, too loud, no music, lighting how to edit, this and that annoys them. Dude, I'm an amature youtube creator just making car content on a powershot. Its tough man to find that balance and I'll never please every viewer. Im guessing your a professional videographer, editor? Im always open to professional opinions and tips, and do apprecate the feedback.

Good project overall but running Negative all the way to engine bay is nonsense and waste you could've gotten solid ground in a back with a same gauge wire but good project though
@HOUSEOFDULA7 жыл бұрын
Thanks? :) Maybe I ran it for peace of mind, I'm no electrician, I knew it was overkill, either way seems to work and I know the block has a 1 gauge path straight to the batt. I know know about nonsense but your right about it being likely not even needed. Appreciate the comment though.

How do you like the stopping power of your cobra calipers?
@HOUSEOFDULA7 жыл бұрын
Better...But I messed up. When I went 5 lug, the rear brakes I used, came with the axle and I just went with it. All the front is new. BUT the rear brakes have a massive bore, like 2.5" so with the master cylinder etc...my bias is so far off I cant use the manual valve to even compensate for it. I need smaller rears. I will work great, right now I can BARELY lock up the wheels and thats at full pedal. SO, its not the cobra calipers at fault its the mismatched system.
@Dirtbikeracing1017 жыл бұрын
ok thanks! I'm planning on doing the cobra calipers up front and gt rears.
