Best club ever made so you forgot they installed a little wooden dowel in the shaft were the hosel . To keep vibrations down . But being forged the sound and feel was unbelievable I heard they were made in Japan ?

My Dad gave me a set of 1981 or so of Titleist Tour Model blades back when they were new. I played them for a while and then moved on. But I never forgot them and just a couple of weeks ago I added a set to my arsenal. Have played with them once and they are awwsome. My vintage blades all play about one club shorter than my more 'modern' sets (which are themselves 20-odd years old). I dont understandthe obsession with distance anyway. Why do you want to hit your 7 iron 180 yards? How many wedges do you need?

Sounds like an awesome forever set of irons! I need to make a video comparing lofts... some day... maybe.

Yes yes yes!! I have a 49° pitching wedge I use with my strong lofted clubs. These clubs rock.

Bought this set new back in the day. This set of irons were unbelievable. Very playable for the good player. Very workable. When you hit it well it's like cutting butter but when you miss it, it lets you know. Awesome irons. Feels pure.

Thanks for the video. My first complete iron set was 2-PW Titleist 1982 Tour Model. I used them until the face was so brown I was embarrassed to go out on the course with them so I bought a 2-E set of 1988 Hogan Redlines and have used them ever since. I may pull the Titleist down from the attic and see how they feel today. Again, thanks for the videos. Today's marketing hype sends many good old sets up into attics or down into basements unfortunately.

I just picked up a Titleist Tour model 1 iron for 3 bucks from Goodwill. I can't wait to hurt my hands trying to hit it 🤣

I bought a 1980 Titleist Tour set in ‘81 and still play the 3-SW irons. Considering getting fitted for a new iron set for more forgiveness. But those blades feel like old friends.

I don't know where Titleist stood in the eighties as far as pro line clubs went but they sure hit pay dirt when they released the DCI irons in the nineties, and all the variations of them. I believe Spalding had a Tour Model iron as well, I think Greg Norman used those back in the eighties. Sure is small for a five iron just like one of mine, an Australian blade., I wonder if the lie angle needs checked on your 5 iron there,, left left and how about another left, fun video!

Channeling plenty of soul, as usual.

Just picked up an entire set. 1-pitching wedge. Can’t wait to start swinging away. Currently playing Hogan Apex edge. I have a complete set of Macgregor black faced cf4000 irons. Believe they’re from the late 50’s to early 60’s.

I've got a set of titleist tour model. They have the 3 line mb look and are shiny chrome finish not exactly the same model as yours but I truly love them. Especially the wedges and 8 iron. Very accurate and I don't think they are hard to hit in fact I can only hit crips shot with these wedges

It's not really muscle it should be mussel as in the shellfish shape, the older British club makers started moving the weight out of the hosel as the hickory shafts disappeared, then they had more metal to put behind the clubheads hence they looked like a mussel. Muscleback is more about advertising.

@The Vintage Golfer - is the Taylormade TPA 5 Putter that you did another review video for, is that Putter face balanced?? I'm trying to get a TPA putter either TM or Wilson. Probably TPA III

I have a set of 1987 Titleist Tour Model Blade Irons. Are they worth anything? They are in excellent shape.

I have a set, love them! How do you identify the year?
@TheVintageGolfer5 ай бұрын
Books and catalogs. I used the book, "The Golf Club Identification and Price Guide IV" to identify this one.
