Average offense and great defense. Not a team for the ages though.

This is the season that made me a Giant's fan...tell me there has been a tougher son of a gun than PHIL MCCONKEY

I moved to Philadelphia in July, 1986, just in time to miss the Mets and Giants winnning it all, but still my home teams in spirit (that shifted in 1988 when I left Amtrak one day feeling like I was home rather than traveling).

The Packers got mad and accused Parcells of running up the score. They swore vengeance when they played the Giants again the following season. The Packers got blown out again...

In 1986 The Giants could have rolled up 50 on anyone if they wanted to, it was that kind of year

@@michaelleroy9281um no. Your memory is NOT GOOD. The Giants won a large number of games by 7 points or less. Simms pulled out a number of games right at the end. Go back and watch the games.

What do they think Lombardi did in the NFL Championship Game 25 years earlier? (Green Bay over the Giants 37-0,12-31-61).

@michaelleroy9281 they were lucky they could score at all during most of the season. If it hadn't been for Joe Morris, Mark Bavaro, and the Giants defense, they would have been screwed. We chewed a lot of fingernails in my home during the '86 season. The Giants were very thin at wide receiver all year. It got to the point where they had Jeff Hostetler taking reps at wide receiver until he broke his leg.

This is the infamous game Parcells goes nuts at Halftime and buries the defense and actually emptied a locker room garbage can onto several Giant defensive players and said "You guys belong with the rest of this shit in here (the garbage)."

The only Packer memory from this dismal season was when Charles Martin slammed Bears QB Jim McMahon to the ground well after the play was dead, ending his season. Too bad, would've loved to see a Bears vs. Giants NFC title game with those legendary defensive units. Some might argue that the Bears had just as good, if not a better defense in "86 than in "85.

At halftime I feel really scared for the G men. Hopefully they come out playing better in the 2nd half 😂
