These old race uploads are awesome, I hope it continues. I love watching the 80’s on back races.

Tim Richmond's 7th win of the year, Earnhardt's 2nd Cup title the race before, and once again we all see how treacherous Riverside was. This would be the last time we see Tim Richmond until the Winston and Pocono in 1987.

I was fortunate enough as a kid to watch a race at Ontario and Riverside before they closed. They were both awesome tracks it only sucks they were shut down.

Tim Richmond was one hell of a race car driver... NASCAR could absolutely continue to use to body style cars that they run now, but everything beneath the sheet metal, including going back and running on the Good Year Bias Ply tire instead of the radials, so the drivers would be able to throw the cars left and right and run the cars sideways thru the turns with the right rear or left rear tire rolling smoke thru the turns. With the radial tires, once the car gets yawed out a certain amount of degree, and the tire begins to lose grip, it looses all grip all in an instant. The bias ply tire was a lot more forgiving, and a lot more fun to watch the cars going thru the turns sideways on asphalt and seeing the smoke just rolling off those good years was just say fun to watch.

I attended this race... sat in the main grandstands. We could only see turn 9 and the pits, so all that battling on the rest of the track was a mystery. Cars would limp back with battle damage and we never knew what happened... But now I do! Sure would have been nice to have had Raceview back in the 80s.

I was there that day and all the of Nascar, IMSA, Indycar, and SCORE Off Road races from 1977 to the VERY Sad day that it closed. I lived 15 minutes from the track and my Dad was a huge Nascar fan and took me from an early age. I miss that place! All other Road Courses will never live up to it for me. RIP Tim Richmond & RIP Riverside International Raceway.

Dude, I was 5 years old but I vaguely remember these races but as I got older I realized how legit they were. What did SCORE run out there? I’m from the Deep South but a big off road fan. I feel there’s something coming from Junior, Harvick, Marks & Burton…just gotta be patient.

Thanks NASCAR for making races available from decades ago. This should be an example for Formula 1 which blocks literally every video you can imagine

I was there. I walked all over that track, from the short chute to the grandstands. I must have walked 5 miles that day. After the race I snuck into the pits through an open gate at the chain link fence around back.

How do we go about making a Classic Race Request to NASCAR on this KZbin Channel? I would love to see them put up the 2004 Subway 400 from the North Carolina Speedway (Rockingham). The last race held at this track for the premier NASCAR series.

They tore this place down and replaced it with a shopping mall that has been a failure since the day it was opened. Such a waste.

They did the same thing with Louisville Motor Speedway where we use to have Monster Truck racing on a Figure 8 stile track. And it was great.

@@randomreviewsrebooted5156 Nah, stage racing is a complete gimmick. It ruins the flow of the races and severely reduces differences in strategy that can occur. Imagine how good the 2018 Roval race would have been if there was strategy as well as the great racing.
