I think the man who went last won
@hackjilton6 жыл бұрын
Im surprised the guy at 3:00 didn't win he looked the best out there. I'd say if this is based even partially on speed then these guys should start learning to pick up the pace. The winner was the only guy I noticed go particularly quick through these. His ring slice thing didn't go as planned but the rest weren't too shabby. Not the best cuts but the best speed won this competition it seems.
@fullfire05 жыл бұрын
It's timed, but successful cuts reduces your overall time, so it's better to go a little slower and make sure you get the cuts

Your video has inspired me to design a cutter for myself. Only thing is as per my country's laws it needs to be way smaller. Where can I get more info on how these knives are made. Or what they are called. It looks like a normal chopper with some minor changes to the blade. What metal do most guys use.
@diegoveloso3rd5 жыл бұрын
I hear cpm m4 as a steel recommended by many. Of course there are other steels one may use like 3v, 5160, 1095 etc.. Consensus is, there is no best steel for a knife, but there are popular choices depending on the application or use. There are many online forums one can easily google or end up in in one's research. And there is also youtube for the testing, forging etc videos
@ronchinoy5 жыл бұрын
@@diegoveloso3rd What steels you can get is also limited to where in the world you live. For now I have purchased some D2. Tool steel. Looking for a design I can scale down to fit our laws.
@diegoveloso3rd5 жыл бұрын
@@ronchinoy oh, well D2 is good :) i do notice i have to oil my D2 knives a bit more often due to humidity and my sweaty palms hehehe For designs, i usually go to instagram for inspiration. Lots of great smiths and even more knives. Im sure youll find many knives there with design qualities you'd fancy. Just search #competitionchopper :D

Does anyone know what the regulation dimensions are on those choppers? I want to build one and have a go.
@tubes51503 жыл бұрын
I just had one custom made . Posted a vid about a week ago . They can get rather expensive but I found a company that will build you an amazing competition knife for a heck of a lot less . I use it to not only practice the skills of Bladesports, but I use for a chopper as well . I will never need to buy another chopper . Let me know if still interested. Stay safe as always 🤠
@sutrisadventure2 жыл бұрын
OAL 15 inch, blade 10 inch, handle 5 inch, maximum width 2 inch, it can be hidden tang or full tang with at least 2 pin, full tang more recommended. Must have 1 hole in the handle for safety string, blade thickness and design is up to you 😁
@firmestshrimp7106 жыл бұрын
What is the point of the row of water bottles, or sometimes beer cans. They're not supported at all on either side. So it just looks like they're raking bottles or cans off of a table. I've watched several of these and they all have that part in the event.
@MrMZaccone6 жыл бұрын
No, those bottles are being cut. The fact that they are not supported is what makes that difficult.
