BTW 99% of the reason I picked this game was because Jack Buck was calling it. His son I could really take or leave as PBP guy but Jack Buck is still a favorite of mine. I was only a teenager when he passed but I still miss him doing St. Louis Cardinal games even the Joe Torre Cardinals that were awful.

Jack Buck is one of my all-time favorites, and I say that as a lifelong Cub fan. I'll listen to pretty much anything he called.

I was at this game. I was one of about 15 people there to see this great comeback. Greatest game I ever saw live aside from the Cardinals' victory over San Diego in 1998.

I attended this game when I was in 1st grade. First NFL game and the origin of my awareness of "The Sports Page" and all things sports related going forward.

I was 23 years old and at that game. Steve Deberg was laughing and smiling on the sidelines when they went up 28 to 3. It was a great come back for the Big Red!

It's still the largest 4th quarter comeback in NFL history.

I was watching this with my Dad. I was elated for the first 3 quarters. Then I became sick after the 4th quarter. One of the biggest chokes in NFL history. The Falcons/Patriots of the 80’s...

THANK YOU!! I have over 600 Cowboys games (FULL) on dvd and I love seeing condensed games like this. Okay as a Cowboys fan since 1976 only 2 receviers ever scared me and they were not name Moss or Owens or Rice. They were named Mel Gray and Roy Green. I am opinionated and here are mine: These are the BEST Tampa uniforms and the Cards never should have moved. Not Opinion but fact: The 2 QB's have Cowboys ties. Gil Brandt told Lomax we were going to draft him. I love LOVE Danny White but I rather have had Neil than Gary Hogeboom and also we did draft DeBerg and I wonder how he would have been as Danny's back up. Steve had THE BEST...bar none...the BEST play action fake in the NFL. Also, #45 Leonard Smith was such a HUGE HUGE cheap shot artist. The final game f the year the Cards needed to win in Texas Stadium to make the playoffs, Gene Stallings our former secondary coach talked shit before the game and my Cowboys beat them LOL to make them not make the playoffs. One of my favorite games. ALSO for my fellow Cowboys fans both tight end's for the Cards became Cowboys Rob Awalt and Jay Novacek. In Fact Rob was the better all around tight end but he got hurt so much for us they came over the same year in Plan B FA in 1990. Also I loved Jay but he should NEVER be in the Cowboys Ring of Honor. I can name in Cowboys tigh end history I am taking Doug Cosbie BJ SuPree, Jay Saldi, Frank Clarke, Mike Ditka and Witten over Novacek. The 90's band wagon jumpers are confused when I talk about Cowboys history. THANK YOU for posting this and hope to see more...especially late 70's and early 80's Falcons games. MATT RYAN MY ASS, Julio Jones MY ASS. BARTKOWSKI was better and Alfred Jenkins and Jackson were so much better than Jones and White. Iam telling you OMG if the NFL threw the ball in the 70's and 80'sas they do now...people would STILL be tring to break records that would have been set by players like Bartkowski to Jenkis, Jackson, Frances and Jr Miller. OMG add in halfback Williams Andrews???People do not know how great the Falcons really were and that is because of MY beloved Cowboys. The Cards offense was just the same: Otis Naderson, StumpMitchell, Roy Green, Pat Tiilley and Mel Gray..OMG I they ever had a defense they would have been awesome.

Great comments all around. Grew up a Cardinals fan in St. Louis and the Cowboys broke our hearts many a time. Agree with pretty much everything you say, as a general football fan.

The 1986 and 1987 Cardinals won 11 games combined. Four of those wins were against non-division opponent Tampa Bay including this historic comeback victory.

And in 1987 my Cowboys gave the first game away to the Cards in the last 2:30 left in the game. However the last game of the season my Cowboys shit up big mouth Gene Stallings our former coach. Furthermore in 1990 the Cowboys signed both Rob Awalt and Jay Novack. Troy would have made AWalt a STAR, a Cowboys legend because Awalt was a FAR better all around tight end than Jay but his two knee injures killed his career in Dallas Breaks my heart. I wish the Cards never moved but at the same time I am so happy that the last game in St.Louis Cards history my Cowboys sent them home the right way: LOSERS.

@Haro19 OG The Run and Shoot Offense doesn't kill the clock enough especially when incompletions stop the clock giving the other team more time to come back. They were better with the Red Gun offense they used before the run and shoot offense.

I am telling you, WATCH...WATCH...if Rob Awalt does not get injured in 1990 Novack does not become the Cowboys great that he became. Rob Awalt was SO much better than Novacek. It is upsetting to see this...WOW. Breaks my heart. Troy would have made him a legend. Awalt would PANCAKE a linebacker blocking, Novacek just got in the way. In fact Awalt reminds me sooo much of Jason Wiitten.

WOW, what an ending. I so wish it went into OT. I think he was the only black place kicker in historyup until couple of years ago. Yet the best punter in the 80's was black: Reggie Roby (RIP). Well him and Ray Guy.

OMG, look at ROB AWALT...he was BETTER than Novack. He was a MUCH better blocker and could catch and run, see that big white guy hurdle??? DAMN IT!! If he never got hurt in 1990and 91Troy would have GONE OFF with Awalt and Novacek in 12 personnel set. (2 TE). Rob suffered two devastating knees injuries in Dallas and they guy we drafted to replace him was Alfredo Roberts and he too blew out his knee. Fredo was caught with Irvin in the hotel room in March 96 with Irvin. Was Lee Roy Selmon retired by this time? I have to look it up. BTW, the BEST website for team history and stats is a site called PRO FOOTBALL REFERENCE.COM check it out. Also for uniforms check out Gridiron Uniform Database, com That site goes through every team's jersey history buy the year all illustrated.

OMG! Awalt just got injured again. This was a good Cards team and fans STILL would not come out. I don't want to hear about no strike...they never should have moved. My fellow Cowboys fans over ran that stadium every year and THAT my friends is why that asshole on FOX Joe Buck HATES US. We used to ruin his day while he sat in the press box with his Metcalf jersey on next to his Dad LOLLOL
