Unless I am mistaken, the Trenoweth XJS is the ex-John McCormack car, while Bob Tindal's Hatchback Torana is the ex-Garry Rogers car. The ex-Tony Edmonson Alfetta Chev run by Chris Clearihan had been around since 1979, back then it had a 5 litre Repco-Holden V8. Tony won the 1980 Aussie SS title and again in 1981 using a 5 litre Chev. It got a 6 litre Chev in 1983.

Well done. Except for the Torana. It wasn't the Gary Rogers car. There was a write up on it in AMC recently. You've probably seen it.

Wasn't the Alfetta was totally destroyed in a bad crash. So a completely new car 1983.

Classic stuff isn't it! Sports sedans that start their lives often in the late 70's or early 80's as one car, evolving over many years, and often in varying hands. Don't you love Australia in the 80's!?

The 12 cyl oil leak spun in its own oil! The Alfetta was the best car in the field though. Just not the best preperation or driver.
