Wait can you explain the table scene to me? I understand it’s Friday trying to come out to her parents, but I was confused as to who the girls in the vintage dresses were and why they were feeding and coddling Friday and treating her like a baby until she almost came out and then they took everything away and put her jacket on her. I was just confused on what that all meant haha
@nasrinnegahban77712 жыл бұрын
@@Da1sygirl27 i think it's bc they treat her like family and love her(by giving her food and care) but the second she even mentions a girl in a romantic way, they switch up and take her food away and put a jacket on her telling her to leave. Then, when she "calms down" and says that she overreacted, they go back to smothering her, which i think means that as long as she acts "normal" they will continue loving her, but obviously that puts her in a box.

This is so intense and vivid but at the same time not screaming the message in your face that table scene was absolutely phenomenal; you chose to show the fears of coming out that you were so close and then the terror of losing everything and everyone you care about if they don’t accept you. You didn’t go about it as in screaming in the audience’s face but you made it obvious enough to show some real emotion. The way they kept trying to show who they really were but were unable to get through to anyone. I love everything about this. The music, acting, clothes, props. It’s amazing how you went about everything. The order of things was delivered great, even if it’s not in chronological order it still shows how they met and how they came to be in love without making the tension too high between everyone. I particularly liked how I got to see that she was friends with people that were making fun of her but she didn’t blame her because she accepted it as the social standard to like men and since they both didn’t she knew they would be hated if they were both openly out as in love so they had to hide their feelings for each other because she knew it would ruin everything she worked for all they needed to do was wait a bit longer and they wouldn’t need to hide anymore.

@@izzysroughcuts I feel ya about the budget. In that situation, people can borrow a mic, or get one from their school, or give an audio person a free IMDB credit, etc. The sound is too important to not get it right because it puts an otherwise brilliant film at risk of rejection by festivals, audience retention, and commercial distribution. This brings back memories of my childhood, lol. I was 5 in 87. Times were definitely different back then. To be clear, not all boomers were closed minded neanderthals back then. Back when the AIDS crisis began and pride parades were commonplace on the news, i remember one day when i was in the living room with my mom while she watched a march on TV. I asked her who those people on the TV were. She said they were gay people. After asking what that meant, she simply said they were people who liked the same gender and that they were normal. I took that to heart and wholeheartedly supported the movement till I realized i wasn't straight in my early twenties, lol. Took me even more years to realize I'm NB. You did hit the nail on the head pretty hard with how much harder it was to come out before the late 90s. I had a friend in high school who was clearly bisexual, but never came out. Which was odd because she was really open about being affectionate towards other girls even though she had a boyfriend. She was even kinda flirty with me, lol. Now with the internet being a widespread thing, kids can come out to the whole world, even anonymously if they please. I'm glad the world is slowly improving its views around us. :) This was s very well done short film. The acting was phenomenal.

I love everything, and i mean every. single. thing about this film. I've seen so many short lgbt+ films but this one is by far my favorite. The direction and the cinematography, the whole vibe is fucking incredible. I can't praise it enough. Oh, what I would give for this to become a full length movie. 7:45 this scene is so impactful. The generic-ness of the background wallpaper gives it this weird, unsettling nostalgic feel that reminds me of my childhood. What adds to that is the faces being blurred out, like it's some distant memory/trauma that Friday is burying inside after she's left. I can relate painfully close to that. Idk that's just how I enterpretted it. Maybe you just chose an old looking wallpaper and called it a day lmao.

GREAT short with the 80s vibe, the acting and the music!! Takes me back to my younger years of exploring and coming out. The table scene felt so real and blew me away. Congrats to everyone involved in the making of this🥰👌🏻 ps. Great to see that there were already those Dyson hand dryers back in the days. Cant remember those lol 🤣

This is a GREAT short film. I am gay and lucky to have a good caring family, but I know some friends who don’t have it so great so I definitely understand the pain. This movie perfectly represents that but also true love. The table scene was intense but by the end it made me so happy that they ended up together (: I really hope this movie goes far, it is awesome to see Gay/lesbian representation on KZbin. It’s also nice to see a short film on KZbin -massive respect. I love vintage esthetic of any sort. Also I love how the words show on the screen, THAT is editing at its finest. Also the quick edits at the end are just beautiful 🤩.

I stumbled across your channel completely by chance. And I am very thankful for that. This was such a wonderful and beautiful surprise of a short film. You have such a great sense for compelling storytelling and strong characterization. I legit cried tears of sadness in the middle and then tears of joy at the end (Bowie helps in that regard, too lol). I'm absolutely looking forward to catching up on your other videos and can't wait to see what you have in store next. Thank you so much and all the best!
